Grandma too young for Toys R Us discount (ParentDish)

Sep 15th 2008 1:09AM Mooslee, I married at 22 (after college graduation), had a child at 24. My 24 year old, married daughter just made me a grandma at 48. I'm not really interested in shopping Toys R Us, so I don't care about their promotion -- I can usually find what I want at Target just as easily and probably at a better price, but no one had to marry too early or get "knocked up" too young for me to be a grandmother before 50 ....

Potent Quotables: Jack Defends Dad (Spinner)

Sep 3rd 2008 3:21PM Never thought Ozzy was an idiot...just very medicated.

Clear View: Sherri Shepherd Isn't Going Anywhere (Blackvoices Main)

Aug 20th 2008 10:21PM Elizabeth is doing exactly what she is supposed to do: State the "conservative" less popular opinion when necessary. It would be boring without and "out there" different personality in the midst. Rosie O'Donnell provided that ot the other extreme before and Elizabeth looked meek and mild next to her. The point of the she is to have everyone talking about it. Someone's gotta do it...

Men prefer size 10 (Stylelist)

Jul 29th 2008 8:29PM It's not so much about whether it's size 10 in pants or a skirt, it's the fact that men don't care about women being skinny. It's women who are obsessed with starving themselves into a size 2...or who compare themselves to the size 2 starvers and feel bad about their size 10 body...

Fake tans banned at school (ParentDish)

Jul 29th 2008 8:22PM That's right...much better to bake in the sun and earn yourself a melanoma rather than bother the head teacher with orange-hued teens. Wish all educators were as smart as she is...

JCPenney's "teen sex" ad [updated] (ParentDish)

Jun 24th 2008 9:40PM Imnotcocteau, they're not changing clothes for the date, they're timing how long it takes to get re-dressed! They guy shaved 15 seconds off with the second go round.... I don't normally have a "dirty mind" and I am all about romance, but that's not what this short film (I won't call it a commercial because JCPenney won't use it).

Top 10 Cell Phone Myths Explained (Switched)

Mar 23rd 2008 10:43AM I've accidentally left mine on before and when I noticed at about 43,000 feet, I did have service. Maybe it depends on where you are. I've been on the ground in Arizona had no service :)

Drug War Goes Crazy, Cyclist Forced to Provide Sample at Son's Cremation (Fanhouse Backporch)

Mar 18th 2008 8:51PM Winners writes: "How can we judge the tester when we were not there?... If he was truely grieving the loss of his child why was he racing." Winners, read the story, he wasn't racing. The tester showed up at the crematorium (like a funeral home)....I can't think of a single reason to excuse this behavior...

What's the dirtiest hotel in the U.S.? It has company (Gadling)

Jan 26th 2008 1:13AM I can't remember the hotel (it was a chain), but once in San Antonio, we stayed in a room that was so gross that we took the sheets off the bed and put down clean towels on the mattress that we got from the pool area (they seemed clean anyway). We wore our flipflops the whole time (even in the shower) because there were mystery wet areas all over the carpet and basicly never let our skin touch anything in the room. The entire hotel was overbooked and twice someone let themselves in our room with a key that was given out by the front desk who didn't realize they gave the room to us (picture the startled stares from both parties). To top it off, our phone rang all night long with hang ups....very glad to pack up and leave the next day. Got our money back after standing in line to complain to managment....

Suri Cruise is a 'strong woman' (ParentDish)

Jan 14th 2008 11:17PM I feel the same way about my daughters and we've called my grandson "the little man" from day one almost.
