Is NBC Dead? (Inside TV Blog)
Oct 5th 2009 9:27AM I have an idea. How about they bring Knight Rider back! That was the highest rated show they had in its time slot in YEARS. If they put it in a time slot that wasn't against a juggernaut on another channel it would do really well. People were watching it!
Steele Talks About Getting Kicked Out of College (Blackvoices Main)
Apr 2nd 2009 11:25AM He got kicked out of college for partying. I don't know how that equates to being born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
Do we want Steele being an example to children that you can party your face off, get kicked out of college and still end up in a fairly important position of power?
It kinda reminds me of how even the worst team in a youth sport gets a trophy. It says, "No matter how little you work to excel you still get what you want."
I don't want to raise my children like that. I want them to work for these positions of power. I want them to earn it and prove constantly that they've earned it.
So, there's one good example in this story -- Obama. He worked his behind off to get where he is. He came up from being raised on food stamps to being the President of the United States and he did it all with hard work and brains.
Tupac Tops Blender's 'Most Overrated' List (The Boombox)
Sep 8th 2008 8:48AM Great way to make themselves irrelevant by saying that Pink Floyd is overrated. I'm nowhere near old. In fact, all of Pink Floyd's HUGE hit albums (including The Wall) were released BEFORE my birth. I've never touched a drug in my life, so you can't even say that I'm a burnt-out stoner finding solace in "trippy" music (which Floyd isn't, actually). Pink Floyd's entire catalog is full of greatly written songs chock full of meaningful lyrics (you know, about things that the writers at Blender probably can't even fathom to understand) and incredible musicianship.
I've never actually read Blender... And honestly, I now see a good reason why I should never bother in the future. If they can write such inane, mediocre drivel, then why bother? I just hope that everybody recycles their issues of Blender because otherwise it truly is an utter waste of the paper upon which it's printed.
Jon and Kate - Are they good enough parents for TV? (ParentDish)
Jul 30th 2008 9:00AM I'd love to see you wrangle eight kids, allowing them to get dirty/messy, and be nice 24/7. When you decide to throw yourself off the roof of a building because you've lost your mind, I'll suggest a few nice buildings from which you can do so.
For having eight children, I think they have things quite together. Imagine what it would take to get eight children clean after allowing them to get dirty. It's hard enough just to get them dressed, and you want Jon and Kate to allow the kids to go jumping in the muck?
On the subject of how Kate treats Jon, they've addressed that on camera. Both of them agree that sometimes you really just don't have time to be nice. With eight children running around, you have to get to the point and get to it quickly. They understand that they're not actually being mean to each other. On top of that, I guess you've been too busy berating Kate for being mean to Jon to notice the snarky (that means sarcastic, cuz something tells me you'd have to look that up) remarks that Jon throws at Kate. It's really fairly even.
As far as the physical abuse... I've never seen anything that I would consider hurtful. She gives him "love taps" as she calls them. He calls them "abuse," but... To be honest, have you ever heard a serious thing come out of Jon's mouth? He's the most sarcastic man I've ever seen on TV.
And in reference to the article to which you link... The Duggars are model parents? Wow, there's a model for the feminist movement. She just pops out kid after kid after kid after kid... She doesn't do anything for herself. At this point, she's almost constantly pregnant, which I'm sure also makes it difficult for her to give proper care to her younger children. Model parenting from somebody who thinks of her womb as a clown car? I think not.

Make my day: Corvette ZR1 police car (Autoblog)

Make my day: Corvette ZR1 police car (Autoblog)
Jan 31st 2008 9:34AM Why is this a surprise? Connecticut at one point (and may still) have a Dodge Viper R/T 10 in the ranks of its State Troopers' vehicles. Maryland has 2005-2006 Mustang GTs (some outfitted with superchargers, given away by the whistle as I passed by them after they pulled somebody over). In the '80s, Florida had Fox-body Mustang GT police interceptors. A Corvette in police trim really wouldn't surprise me.

Debut of the Chevrolet Camaro Concept (Autoblog)
Jan 11th 2006 5:01PM I guess that GM didn't learn the lesson that Ford learned when they put an IRS in the Cobra the last few years. People HATED it and some even retrofitted the classic 8.8 rear into their cars. Real Camaro drivers are going to want the same things that real Mustang drivers want. Nobody's gonna get a Camaro and go autocrossing. They're gonna pound the quarter mile in a straight line.
