Cam Newton Is Heisman Candidate and Center of Numerous Off-Field Storms (Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog)
Nov 10th 2010 3:34PM Birmingham News columnist Kevin Scarbinsky said on Tuesday that this is nothing more than a character assasination. Given that Newton was convicted of stealing a laptop computer, also proved to have stolen someone else's college paper and turned it in as his own (cheating), and actually had 12 traffic citations (including speeding and running red lights and driving with a suspended license), I would say Newton has no character to assasinate. He has already assasinated it himself.
Time to Rethink How We Protect Young Football Players (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)
Oct 31st 2010 10:14AM No matter what an individual football player may do in his attempts to prevent a head injury, it won't stop the other player who is bent on targeting his head. Regardless, the risk is always there. Play or don't. It's your head. Use it for what it is intended.
'Paranormal Activity 2' Scares Up Monster Debut: Box Office Report October 22-24 (Moviefone Blog)
Oct 25th 2010 2:05PM I rented the first PA on DVD. The movie was a good idea, but in reality it is poorly executed junk! Anyone dumb enough to fall for this twice deserves to be robbed.
What is truly horrifying is the obvious lack of education shown by so many people posting comments here. Did they stop teaching basic grammar and writing skills in elementary school? How did some of you people graduate? Or are you all still in kindergarten? This phenomenon (ignorance in America) is what should be frightening us the most.
Anjelica Huston Hawks 'Fortress' Home at $18M (Housingwatch)
Oct 14th 2010 10:57PM Obviously the $18M price is really for the lot itself. It appears to be in a prime location (near the beach) for building a multi-unit income property. The existing structure looks as though it was formerly some kind of industrial space. Someone with smart business sense will buy that lot and make a lot of money from it.
Michelle Rhee Steps Down (AOL Hot Searches)
Oct 14th 2010 4:28PM If ever were more evidenced the need for better teachers, it shows in the responses here. These posting were not made by people just taking shortcuts in their writing. It is quite obvious we have serious issues with education in this country. I won't play grammar police with these comments because I agree with most of them. Screw those lousy teachers. Fire them all! It just shows the stupidity in this country when someone like Michelle Rhee is taken to task for trying to improve education by getting rid of the dead weight in ranks of unionized teachers. There was a time when the U.S. was always near the top in education. In the last three decades it has been a continuous downhill slide. Rhee was making some gains. It is not hard to predict how things will go now. Generations now are so dumb, they don't even realize how stupid they are compared to their smarter grandparents (who are too polite to tell them).
Taco Bell's XXL Chalupa Reviewed (Slashfood)
Oct 14th 2010 1:21PM What is never discussed is the human factor in assembling this shlock at your local fast food joint. You are always at the whim of the marginally trained, unmotivated people behind the counter who would just as soon short you if they have reached the bottom of the vat of ground up whatever-it-is that they are supposed to stuff into your chalupa or burger, or even your pizza. People do whatever keeps the line moving without regard to who gets the end product. You have no idea what you are going to wind up with at any fast food restaurant. For this reason, I am deathly afraid to eat at any of them. Take it from me. I worked in one when I was a teenager too. I have every reason to think people take even more shortcuts now than ever. You get the food equivalent of a text message at fast food restaurants these days.

Too Good to Be Food: Special K Blueberry Crisps (That's Fit)
Sep 7th 2010 4:26PM I am with you Louis. This is processed nothingness manufactured to appear like food. It certainly is NOT nutritious, which is what food is supposed to be, as defined. This bar of goo has 2 grams of fat versus 1 measly gram of protein? How much are you paying for that? How blind can we be to pay for nothing? Eat a handful of unsalted almonds or peanuts. You will get a lot more mileage out of that and some real nutrition too. Even ONE slice of decent whole grain bread has 5 grams of protein and only 1.5 grams of fat and only 100 calories. Protein is what your body needs, not just fat and sugar. Slap some peanut butter on that piece of bread and give it to your kid as a snack just like my mom used to. I didn't grow up fat and with attention deficit disorder. Have the same for yourself, mom. Skip all this processed, overpriced fake food and give your body what it needs for a change.
