Mar 14th 2012 3:42AM These are called "Nigerian Bank Scams" and they are so old, so well publicized, and so common that anyone who does get scammed this way deserves to be fleeced, they need to pay for their education. Craigslist is NOT the problem. Craigslist has fraud alert banners sreaming at you on every page. They warn you against the Nigerian Bank Scams. If you are stupid enough to fall for a Nigerian bank scam you deserve what you get. If you offer a $50. bike for sale on Cragislist the Nigerian Bank Scammers will send email offering to buy your "item" and send check for $150. Then frantic email, "My assistant sent wrong amount, I want bike, please wire the balance back to me at xyz account." and if you are a brainless idiot you will wire transfer the money. Craigslist is NOT responsible for your stupidity.

Feb 23rd 2011 7:12PM Walmart saves mid and low income families a thousand or more dollars a year if they shop at Walmost for most items. It puts inexpensive goods in the hands of people without much money. Walmart also has low cost health clinics, rock bottom priced Senior Citizen drug prescription plans, half the cost of any other plan, free generic drugs, dirt cheap generic drugs, cheap check cashing, and other services for the poor and thrifty. Don't like it? don't go, patronize the "Mom and Pop shops" and pay higher prices, fine by me.
Walmart, get back to what you do best, everyday stuff at rock bottom prices.
