Remember when the invented the microwave oven at NASA? When it was found to be dangerous at levels of radiation needed for cooking, the government simply elevated the safe threshold value to make them "safe".

Additionally, secure all supply lines to the vulnerable oil fields and production facilities. Other than that, the Iraqies can kill each other all they want. This will remove the animus (sp.?) towards us and allow them to focus on internal matters.

The principle purpose of this war was much higher than getting rid of Hussein or WMD, it was to secure the western built oil properties and install a puppet government we can rely upon as an ally similar to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Dubai. Now that Russia is subdued, we don't need the geopolitical pawn like Iraq or Iran in the belly of the beast.

And by the way, the Afgan thing is the same issue. Russia wanted that territory so they could run a gas pipeline. I think Russian oil reserves are almost as large as Saudi's.

Now we are doing the same.

Oct 18th 2006 12:43AM Lina, you are wrong. I'm not an immigrant. I was born here. Certainly, what happened was voter intimidation since the letter was sent to legal voters. But after experiencing a Mexican trying to hit on my woman the other day, while I was only ten feet away, I think it's time to clamp down on the Mexican thing. I travel the country and clearly we are fast becoming the next third world country with pick pockets and worse. I would much rather be the US of A not Mexico Norte.
