FDA Warns Dietary Supplements Marketers to Stop Deceptive Claims (WalletPop)
Dec 19th 2010 5:25PM The FDA is such a tool of the drug companies it is DISGUSTING. Don't they know how obvious they are. The supplements being marketed are so much safer than their counterpart drugs. Just take a look at melatonin, calcium and magnesium or tryptophan for sleep problems vs. Ambien or Lunestra.

Not just Tylenol and Motrin: Drug recalls skyrocketing (WalletPop)
Aug 18th 2010 1:07AM With the patent running out on Cymbalta Eli Lilly is desperate to find another market for the drug which would increase sales and extend their patent. But we have enough problems with the number of prescription drugs currently on the marketing. Overdose and Adverse Events are on the rise. Emergency room visits for poisoning are almost at an epidemic level.
Cymbalta is dangerous. Here is a small section of the FDA's Black Box Warning for this drug. "You, your family, or caregiver should call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: new or worsening depression; thinking about harming or killing yourself, or planning or trying to do so; extreme worry; agitation; panic attacks; difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep; aggressive or hostile behavior; irritability; acting without thinking; severe restlessness; frenzied abnormal excitement; or any other unusual changes in behavior. "
I think extending the uses for this drug is a terrible idea. I was writing a booklet about the Adverse Events reported to the FDA connected with the most prescribed and best selling prescription drugs. I would appreciate anyone taking this survey. It's at http://PrescriptionDrugProblems.com
Thanks very much.
Is Fish Oil the Key to Fighting Depression? (AOL Healthy Living)
Jul 6th 2010 12:51PM If you'r interested in this area or have a friend or family member on antidepressants it would be a good idea to read the actual results of this trial rather than simply take the evaluation of a psychiatrist. Psychiatry has a vested interest in pharmaceuticals and writing prescriptions. This is how they get prestige and money.
One of the groups who really know about this is Citizens Commission on Human Rights, CCHR.org
Selling drugs to healthy people could mean billions for the drug industry (WalletPop)
Apr 8th 2010 1:25AM How on earth can we allow the FDA to be puppets and slaves to the pharmaceutical companies? Anybody have ideas on how to stop this? Who do we write to? This is so crazy.
Derailed by Depression, Justin Duchscherer Set to Return to Mound (Fanhouse MLB Blog)
Apr 7th 2010 6:16PM I think it's terrific that he had the guts to look at his own situation and to seek help. It was also smart to be aware of how he felt on antidepressant medication and avoid taking it. I'm sure he saved himself a hell of a lot of grief.
I've been reading a lot about these drugs and they're pretty frightening. I would certainly go for counseling and avoid that stuff. I think it was ABC that did some great interviews with Dr. Peter Breggin about what these drugs do. You can see them on YouTube. This group called Citizen's Commission on Human Rights has some interesting videos too.

FAA Relaxes Ban on Antidepressants (AOL Travel News)
Apr 5th 2010 2:52PM This is absolutely insane. Just go to YouTube and type in "Peter Breggin" and listen to his Fox News interviews about what those drugs really do and the side effects they can create. The drug companies downplay the side effects to the public, the government and to doctors. But those side effects are there and they are real. That is why all antidepressants come with a "Boxed Warning", the highest level caution issued by the FDA.
