Josh Turner Welcomes Third Son (The Boot)
Dec 17th 2010 3:20PM It worked very well for Paul and Linda McCartnery. When he toured with Wings, Linda played keyboard and sang in the back and they brought along Heather, Mary, Stella and later on sweet baby James. He has said many times that they were some of the happiest memories in his life.
'Toy Story 3' Movie Reviews (Moviefone Blog)
Jun 18th 2010 1:58PM Guess where I will be spending Father's Day. Yes, seeing Toy Story 3 with my teenagers. It's also my birthday, and I can't think of a better way to bond with the teens on my birthday watching a Pixar movie. Absolutely loved the first two Toy Story movies when I took my kids when they were very small. I loved Wall-E and Up, so I am very excited to see Toy Story 3.
'Gilmore Girls' Cast: Where Are They Now? (AOL TV)
Jun 5th 2010 12:46PM Where is Paris? Where is Taylor Doose? Where is one of my favorites, Michel? Where is Babette? And last, but definitely not least, where is Miss Patty? Most of the actors named above I knew what they were doing now. But what about the others? Also, I vote for a Gilmore Girls movie too.
Is it Smart to Sleep With Your Pets? (Shelterpop)
May 22nd 2010 8:41PM I thought I'd read an intelligent article about the pros and cons of sleeping with dogs, but instead the main article was shilling for selling doggie beds. Personally, I have three dogs. One sleeps with me and my husband, and when he gets up the other two join me. Lose sleep. hell yeah, but the unconditional love and affection is worth the loss of sleep, dog hair in the bed, drool, etc. That's why there are washing machines to wash the sheets. Me and my husband have been sleeping with dogs for almost 30 years and aren't about to give it up now. Dogs Rock.
John Fogerty Sued for Plagiarizing ... Himself: Twisted Tales (Spinner)
May 16th 2010 9:18PM My favorite group in my teenage years was CCR. Although they only made 5 albums together, I would play them over and over. My favorite being "Cosmos Factory". They played rock with a bluesy southern sound that I had not heard before, nor since. John had a special voice which still sounds great today. A few years ago I bought his CD with him singing CCR songs and his solo stuff and absolutely love it. It gives me a positive feelings when I hear his voice. Sorry that he and his brother Tom never made up. I always wondering why they just stopped making music together. Also, it was very wrong of him not to let Stu and Doug share the glory when CCR went into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But then Debbie Harry won't let the original members of Blondie on the stage either. I guess some people can not get passed old hurts. But, no matter what, John, Tom, Stu and Doug will always have a special place in my heart.
'V' Renewed; 'FlashForward,' 'Scrubs,' 'Better Off Ted,' 'Romantically Challenged' Axed (AOL TV)
May 14th 2010 2:45PM In the 70s and 80s ABC was the channel to watch. Boy, have things gone downhill from then. The reason people switched to cable shows is because cable is willing to give a new show time to create a fan following. At least when my favorite quirky show "Pushing Daisies" got cancelled after only 2 seasons ABC tried to tie up the story line in the last episode (it could have been better). Now "quirky" automatically means "will be cancelled real soon". Why bother trying if you don't give a show a change to succeed.
Labradoodle Creator Has Massive Regrets Over the Craze He Started (Pawnation OLD)
May 7th 2010 5:07PM About 4 years ago my sister-in-law and her husband got on the Labradoodle bandwagon craze. They got Elvis (yes, Elvis) from a breeder in Kansas. He cost $1200! Then, of course, the added airplane fare to Florida. By the time he was two they got a new job which wouldn't allow such a big dog (he was 93 pounds at the time). So, even though we already had our two sweetie pie Austrialian Shephards, we offered to make Elvis a part of our family. I believe that he isn't even a real Labradoodle, as he looks nothing like any pictures that I've seen of them. He looks like a Chocolate Lab with a full beard. Well, 2 years later, he is indeed a full member of the family. My two children, whom were afraid of really large dogs, are totally in love with him. He runs around our large back yard with our two Aussies (Scout and Cody) and dropped 20 pounds. Now he looks like a sleek 73 pound small pony (with a beard). I'm glad that the demand for "designer dogs" has died down, but am very grateful to have my so called "designer dog" in my life. He is the sweetest big boy on earth!
Paul McCartney to Release Back Catalogue on Indie Label (Spinner)
Apr 21st 2010 1:51PM Please release "McCartney" and "Ram". Also, his first Wings CD . I believe it was called "Wild Life". I've looked in oldies stores and FYE and can't find them anywhere. My son is obsessed with anything Beatles related and I would love to get those CDs.
My Son Thinks Homework Is Optional! (ParentDish)
Apr 5th 2010 4:13PM Too much homework? When I went to Catholic school we had homework in every subject 5 nights a week (that includes Fridays). I would relax the first hour at home, then work, take a break, work, eat dinner, do more work and somehow it was all done by 7 P.M.Then I had at least two hours for myself and had the weekends free. (by the way, we had 40 kids in a class). If your children get get on a proper schedule at a young age they will get the homework done and still have time for leisure. When my children were in school they would relax for an hour and then bring their homework to the kitchen table to do. That way I was free to do what I had to do around the house and answer any questions they might have. Even right now, my youngest is in 10th grade and he comes home, relaxes, does work, relaxes, etc. This way he gets it all done without too much stress and still goes bike riding, walking and anything else to take the pressure off. Doing homework is not the world's easiest chore, but if you make a proper schedule or when and how long to work on it, it helps alot. By the way, Cheryl, I never had 4 hours of homework! Even projects, which took usually about a month to do, were spread out timewise.
The Ballad of Jesse James and Sandra Bullock (PopEater)
Mar 18th 2010 4:17PM Me and my daughter call it the "Oscar Jinx". It seems that lately any woman that wins the award loses her husband. Look at Hilary Swank, Kate Winslet and Reese Witherspoon. My daughter said, while she watched Sandra Bullock win, "I hope her marriage won't fall apart now that she won, she looks like a very nice person". Then, less than a week later, this ugly gossip starts. I hope it is not true, especially since she and Jesse are helping to raise three children together. If he did cheat, I pray that he asks for forgiveness and they can work it out. It seems to be very hard to stay married in Hollyweird.
