Nation's Tallest Player Kenny George Undergoes Amputation (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)
Oct 18th 2008 6:15PM What's happened to him is very sad, but I'll "betcha" he and his family and friends have great strength and will come through this time as even better people.
Possibly good new is that there was a kicker (as in a guy whose primary job is focused on running on his feet in an extremely timely manner and then totally focused on his actual feet) -- not a quarterback or any kind of a lineman -- in the NFL who had only a partial foot. Maybe Kenny can be whatever he wants to be, and maybe he can even succeed in a professional sports career. Who are we to know?
God bless him and all those who care for him.
Obama Begins Ayers Explanation (Politics Daily)
Oct 10th 2008 3:19PM The writer is a right-wing smear tactician. I cannot believe that someone who actually gets paid has the nerve to trumpet lies and innuendoes to the unfortunately "innocent" public. What a sad man he is.
He should be very ashamed. Hope that paycheck aids his sleep at night because if there's a life hereafter, it's not going to help him then. I can only pray!
Ever heard of born again Christians? Think this guy needs a dunking.
Hacktivists Get Into Palin's Email (Politics Daily)
Sep 17th 2008 10:46PM It's very convenient of you to cite these hackers as a "left-wing group." How do you know that they're not just your average hacker?
And why was she using Yahoo for official government business, when there is an official government web for Alaska business?
Has anyone noticed that the hacked emails aren't available on YouTube, where they were posted, right now because YouTube is doing maintenance? The news reports are there, but the only reaction you are allowed to have to them (not save, not favorite, not rate, not send, not share) is to mark them as spam. How convenient is that for the people trying to run your life for you with you having nothing left to say? Hmm?
Nicolas Cage cuts a deal with the IRS (WalletPop)
Sep 11th 2008 5:38PM No matter how much he has/makes that's a pretty large hit. If I were he, I'd fire my accountant.
Top 11 E-Mail Scams (Switched)
Sep 6th 2008 10:20PM Why isn't the US government taking down a site with a phony IRS name? I don't really care how much whoever paid for it. It's clearly a violation of our rights.
First-Ever Driving While Texting Ticket Issued (Switched)
Nov 25th 2007 6:03PM I live in Westchester County NY, one of the wealthiest places in the country. The people I see texting and talking on their cells most often are what we call here "soccer moms," those being women who drive very large, very expensive vehicles, mostly SUVs and quite a few "luxury" cars. These are the same people who can't be bothered to use their turn signals to change lanes or actually make a left-hand turn.
People! It's not like they don't have the money to afford hands-free or as if they'll ever have to replace the bulb for their turn signal (because the Excalade or other vehicle for which they get a tax right-off because of its weight as if it were a real working person's vehicle -- yes, can you even imagine?!)because their huge vehicles are leased anyway, so they won't even own it when it hits 40K miles.
Face it! In most cases those texting and talking with the cellphones in their hands are just plain arrogant. ARROGANT AND SELF-IMPORTANT! Ask them and I'm sure they'll tell you that their conversations are much, much more important than the life of some pitiful other person who may end up with damage to his/her middle-class car or DEAD even.
"Honey, I've been at the spa all day, but now I've picked up the kids and am taking them to soccer practice. While they're there, I'm going to the market. I don't have time to stop home now, so what do you think we should have for dinner?"
Returning to a stressful job after suffering heart attack could increase chances of second attack (That's Fit)
Oct 18th 2007 4:58PM I tell people I retired about 10 years earlier than I had planned so that "I could live to tell about it!" It is a wonderful organization with a propensity for allowing really poor people managers. The abuse was non-stop!
