Is Kevin Smith Too Fat to Fly? (VIDEO) (Inside TV Blog)

Feb 16th 2010 10:24AM It's not always as easy and watching what you eat. There are many reasons why people are overweight that do not involve being a glutton or a couch potato that never exercises. Why is Southwest the only airline that has this requirement? When my husband and I fly, I just make sure that we are sitting somewhere that only has 2 seats next to each other. Easy as that! We get where we are going and nobody else is inconvenienced or uncomfortable by how much room he takes up. I will never fly Southwest, even by myself, because of this discriminatory practice!

Willie Nelson Cancels Shows, Bandmates and Crew Arrested (The Boot)

Feb 8th 2010 11:05AM Romeo, it is Asheville, not Ashville, and if you read the article you will notice that the band was busted in Kenansville. Kenansville is down east, a long way from Asheville. He would so not have been busted here and we are very disappointed that he isn't rescheduling his concert. It was canceled here because of the weather, we had 14 inches of snow and most people were stranded at home with no power. I couldn't have gotten out of my driveway to get to the concert!

Willie Nelson Cancels Shows, Bandmates and Crew Arrested (The Boot)

Feb 8th 2010 11:01AM The Asheville concert was originally canceled because of the weather. Believe me, his band's pot and moonshine would have been more than welcome here! Unfortunately, he is choosing not to reschedule the concert which really disappoints. There is a big difference between Kenansville, NC and Asheville, very different cultures. Come back to Asheville, Willie, we love you!

12 things you shouldn't buy in 2010 (WalletPop)

Jan 19th 2010 10:35AM I agree with you, Mike! One HUGE disadvantage of using your smartphone for a GPS is that, at least with my provider, when you're not in your local area the GPS function is useless. What's the point? I was on a trip out of state and hadn't printed out my usual Mapquest directions because I had my handy dandy smartphone with GPS. We tried getting from the hotel from the ballpark and found out that it was useless! Never again! Went that day and bought a small TomTom from Best Buy and haven't looked back, I LOVE it!

I also agree on the laptop vs. netbook. I have no use for a netbook because by the time I buy an external hard drive to give me enough storage and an external CD-ROM so I can rip and burn CD's (yes, I still like to have a hard copy of my music even when I download it), I'll spend as much or more than if I would have just bought a laptop in the first place. Plus, you buy a desktop and you're stuck in the computer room. Our desktop is our server now and my husband and I both sit in the living room with our laptops, accessing and storing documents on the huge hard drive on the desktop. I also don't think tablet PC's are the future. There are just too many problems with the touch screens. I have used them before and they are so quirky! I want a full size keyboard with my screen, thank you very much!

Debit-card debate: Use a PIN or sign? Either way it will cost you (WalletPop)

Jan 10th 2010 12:50PM This is exactly why I no longer use banks. You local community credit union is the way to go! We have our mortgage, car loans, and checking and savings accounts all with the credit union and we don't have to deal with these outrageous fees.

I also work for a business that accepts debit and credit cards. We pay a LOT more for credit transactions than for debit. If that card says debit on it, I run it as a debit transaction, I don't even give the client a choice.

George Stephanopoulos to Replace Diane Sawyer on 'Good Morning America'? (We Called It!) (Inside TV Blog)

Dec 3rd 2009 11:30PM Diane should stay on GMA. George needs to do the nightly news, he's too serious for GMA! Come on, ABC, get with it!

'Idol' Runs Long, DVRs Cut Off Adam Lambert's 'Mad World.' Cue Outrage (AOL TV: American Idol)

Apr 8th 2009 11:47AM As others have said, it wasn't that television stations didn't air the performance, it's because people who record it on DVR or Tivo didn't get it because of the over run. What makes me mad is I usually record the show after a show like this because it is live and there is the possibility for an over run, I just forgot last night! I have seen the performance online and I still voted for Adam, but I hope they show it again tonight for those of us who missed it on the big screen! Go Adam!

Did Faith Hill Lip Sync at the Super Bowl? (The Boot)

Feb 4th 2009 3:53PM If you listened to the introduction, it was a John Williams arrangement of Simple Gifts along with a few other pieces. It was absolutely beautiful!

Don't even bother with the Circuit City sales (WalletPop)

Jan 21st 2009 4:39PM I have not had the experience you all have had. I went to CC on Saturday, the first day of the sale, and while the salepeople were understandably upset they were all very pleasant. I would be upset too if I just found out I lost my job! I got a GPS that was originally $129.99, on sale for $99.99 and 10% off of that. Then today I got a new printer, almost the exact same deal. They even have iPods at 10% off. You can never find iPods under MSRP! If I could afford one, I'd buy it in a hearbeat! I'll keep watching, and if they still have one left when the discounts are deeper, I'll buy one in a heartbeat! I saw some things that weren't particularly good deals, but I also saw some great deals. You just have to be an educated shopper. Know what you're looking for and how much you can get it for elsewhere. If it's cheaper elsewhere, then don't buy it! If you get a good deal, then buy it. That's what I have done and will continue to do until the store closes.

Is Microsoft Dumping Vista? (Switched)

Jan 8th 2009 2:45PM Microsoft seriously needs to offer a free updrade to those of us that got stuck with the horrible Vista! I have it on a desktop and a laptop. It causes nothing but problems on the desktop. The laptop isn't actually that bad, but I haven't had it that long yet so it will eventually! As long as 7 is offered in a 64-bit version so that I can take advantage of the 4 GB RAM i paid for on my laptop!
