A Very Special Holiday E-Reader Roundup (Switched)
Dec 24th 2009 11:30AM I purchased a SONY PRS 500 a little over 2 years ago in San Diego, on sale at $229. Eight days later it died, and since I live in Florida, I called SONY customer service and was told that I had to send it to their repair facility back in San Diego. They eventually e-mailed me a note telling me it would cost $264 to repair, never did tell me what was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back to another store of the same chain for an exchange. If you buy a SONY,remember, you have to buy your books on line and they are very propriatary. You better hope you never have to have it repaired.
