May 14th 2011 1:49PM simply ridiculous! Then "She is charged with stealing $15,686." Most lawyers are not good at math and this shows why most struggle through 5th grade arithmetic. What about subtracting the cost of education in the district the child should have been enrolled in-whatever that is? That would bring the amount "stolen" closer to $0. However, the whole thing is just WRONG.
Man Gets Slapped With $85,000 Cell Phone Bill (Switched)
Dec 14th 2009 8:12PM no one should ever pay any crazy $85000 cell phone bill- they can charge per/kb or whatever but really the rate the down with increased consumption! so if we start at $1 /kb that should be from say 0-1MB; $0.8/kb for usage between 1 and 2MB etc by the time we use 1G we should be paying LESS per KB! This doesn't just make business, but on a fundamental level in computing the cost of doing the data transmission a nonlinear trend should arise-as in economies of scale. It there unfair for the company to use a linear pricing schemes for such relatively high usage!
