May 26th 2010 12:12AM Why not have the gate adjust dynamically to accommodate the uneven ground? Humans do this when they see uneven ground ahead of them instead of always walking like a tin soldier. The robot here could make its gate larger after the first unsure step and even larger still after the second an third.

May 24th 2010 8:21PM Why not let people who pre order the DVD have VOD for free before the DVD hits? It would encourage DVD sales and the movie studios aren't giving away anything people would have paid for otherwise.

Dec 15th 2008 1:45PM Their probably using geothermal heat pumps, with pipes running under the sand, then out into the ocean where the water temperature is always just about freezing, then back again. A company called Enwave uses that system in Toronto to cool a number of large office towers.
