AT&T announces iPhone 3G pricing plans {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2008 11:30AM Wow. These prices are insanely high. Even if you are eligible for the 199/299 prices, you are going to be paying unbelievable amounts per month. The old iPhone is/was $20/month for unlimited data and 200 texts, and this one is $35/month for the same thing. That's $360 difference over two years. At every price level, AT&T has raised the prices (for 1500 texts, you are paying an additional $5 than what it was before).... and thats just data and texts
Now the voice... its even insanely expensive for the family plan. Why should each minute on the iPhone be more expensive than any other phone? Their family plans are signicantly more expensive for the iPhone + instead of the regular $10 per additional line, its a whopping $40/month... Seriously AT&T? You're gonna screw us over THAT bad? Seriously?

People are going to be buying this phone thinking its such a great deal, but they are going to be kicking themselves at the end of the month, every month. AT&T is squeezing every penny out of this that they can get. It'd probably be a good time to invest...

Jun 28th 2008 7:33PM Yeah, Chris ripped on this one way too hard. Maybe its because I really hope Motorola will pull itself together, but this one looks like it could be pretty nice. This does not look like a low-end offering.
You have to keep in mind that anyone considering this phone is not also considering the second coming - rather, they are considering some random garbage from LG.

OWC intros 7,200RPM 320GB Mercury On-The-Go bus-powered drive {Engadget}
Jun 25th 2008 2:12PM eh. I don't really see the need for 7,200RPM, F800, or ESATA in a portable bus-powered drive. On my 320GB WD passport elite, I get realized transfer speeds in excess of 16MB/s; it is 5400RPM, USB connection, bus powered. The case on this OWC looks really junky compared to the WD too...
I wanna see some benchies comparing the different transfer speeds of the different connection types and drive speeds for bus-powererd drives.
