Sep 28th 2010 1:21PM they've been doing the same w/ Google Suggest for quite some time now... although I found it kind of funny when I was searching a few days ago for "does sprite..." and after the first few letters got "does sperm die when it hits the air"

Bing Entertainment integrates Zune Marketplace purchases, improves Microsoft's media swagger (Engadget)

ok...here's something cool to note! Even though it doesn't seem you can make zune purchases through the search engine right now, zune.net has been revamped and you can purchase and download (even make your 10 monthly zune pass downloads) straight from a browser w/o having to use the software @ all!!!

Jun 23rd 2010 1:07PM there's something kind of gay abt this system though...even though it's "powered by zune" and I have a zune pass...the only options to buy when doing a search are from iTunes or Amazon MP3. This obviously shows that they aren't being biased toward their own product, but c'mon guys, I'd like to zunepass my content from the bing search while signed in or @ least buy it using M$ Points!!!

May 31st 2010 2:04PM agree w/ Joe, you write for Switched, which is a tech blog, not some sort of political/religious forum/blog. You want to talk about incompatible??? Islam is incompatible - with any form of life. Its tolerance for ignorance, its many discrepancies, and its FUNDAMENTAL terroristic message make it incompatible with any semblance of a God-centered life.
and "we"? why use a word like "we". I'm a reader of Switched...great blog...but go ahead and say "we" should let China kill their babies, blind the minds of their people, "we" shouldn't be able to lampoon some stupid infidels in Pakistan etc. and I have a problem with your inclusion of the rest of us in the sick & demented world of your mind.
You say "People in other parts of the world, however, have decidedly different priorities." You are mistaken. This isn't people, this is government. Just because someone's born in China, do you think that they have different priorities and would rather live their life shut off from the rest of the world because their government wants them to be censored?
So far as the Facebook censorship goes, if the government wants to censor that particular group, or facebook altogether, that's theirs to do, but you can't censor the entire world because it offends the ignorant leadership of a couple of countries.
Even though this is obviously something small and ultimately pretty stupid, it speaks of the larger issue of human rights and how they are stepped on by ignorant people (especially Islam) and how those ignorant people are taking away our human rights as a whole.
Sorry that was so long...if you would have just reported on how facebook pussied out and capitulated, I probably would have had nothing to say, but you had to wax philosophical so here you go...
Is Dash Express dead? And if so, how will you know where to find the cheapest gas? (Engadget)
May 26th 2010 9:20AM that sucks...I've had the Dash for 1yr6mos, and although some of the routes it gives are kind of wierd, it has been a great device! It still says I'm on the "free 1mo trial" of the connected service and I've been using Yahoo! Local etc all this time, so it's sad to see the service go :(
(haven't gotten the email yet, but I guess that's forthcoming)
mSpot stores your music* in the cloud, makes it available anywhere** (Engadget)
May 19th 2010 9:59AM @mshnryman oh, did I mention Orb is FREE!?
The free computer application lets you access it from any other connected device, and if you want an awesome app interface on the iPhone, you can pony up the $10 one-time fee (read:not monthly like that other crap).
Then there's the ability to stream your TV like slingbox...
