Fable 3 demo rules over Xbox Live (Joystiq)

Jun 1st 2011 9:37PM Glad I didn't pay for this game. The weird janky frame rate in the demo is killing me. On top of that, is it just me or does the game look worse than Fable 2?

Stab-proof Gorilla Glass coming to TVs near you in 2011 (Engadget)

Aug 1st 2010 11:19PM @zerotwone Basically both are laminated glass, it's very strong against surface damage, but damage to the edge is catastrophic.

Aug 1st 2010 7:06PM It's worked out so well for the new iPhones why not put it in the living room, I'm sure it will add nothing to the cost of already overpriced sets.

Jul 13th 2010 12:48PM How dare Bay include established chracters from the cartoon story line, this will ruin everything!!!!

They're the stunticons.

Also, Chicago, not Detroit. It clearly says that in the article these were ripped from, that and the fact it's been all over the news here.

Top notch reporting.

Toy Story 3 in 4K 3D: does higher-res equal higher enjoyment? (Engadget)

Jul 9th 2010 10:17AM @joealien It's amazing how wrong you are, the Sony does not alternate the eyes, it uses the 4K chip to display both images at the same time, one on the top and one one the bottom, then the lens splits the images through 2 individual polarizers and overlays them on the screen.

Also, most of the DLP systems in the field aren't displaying the image at full resolution, the image is scaled down because all but the newest DLP chips can't handle the bandwidth needed to display 144 frames per second (they display each frame L&R 3 times).

Jul 9th 2010 10:12AM @RonC Since that stinking pile of mediocrity you call Gladiator came out 10 years ago, I would say it would be exactly like going 10 years into the future.

Toy Story 3 in 4K 3D: does higher-res equal higher enjoyment? (Engadget)

Jul 9th 2010 10:09AM @Kapit the upcharge for the 3D actually goes to the company that provides the 3D equipment such as Dolby or RealD, the theater and studios see none of tht money.

Toy Story 3 in 4K 3D: does higher-res equal higher enjoyment? (Engadget)

Jul 9th 2010 10:08AM @tadghostal It's not interlaced at all, the DLP projectros alternate left and right eye images at 144 frames per second and have an electronic polarizer synced to the left and right frames.

The Sony display 2 2K resolution images on the 4K chip at the same time and has a special lens that splits that into 2 seperate outputs each with it's own polarizer, they are then aligned so the images line up on top of each other one the screen.
