11 Outrageous Taxes (WalletPop)

Feb 18th 2011 11:15AM Spending is out of control? How about tax-cutting is out of control? The rich keep getting richer and the rest of us pay for it.

White House Economist Austan Goolsbee Predicts Growth in 2011 (AOL Jobs)

Jan 24th 2011 8:44AM Repeal the job-killing Republicans! They got us into this mess.

Palin Billboard Fight 'a Crusade' for First Amendment Rights (Sphere Lite)

Nov 12th 2009 1:58PM Jursidictions can prohibit billboards. They are an eye sore. As long as the prohibition is consistenly applied, no one is being discriminated against. Vermont has prohibited billboards for decades, and they aren't missed. It has nothing to do with free speech, unless the prohibition allowed some billboard messages and not others. I'd love to see all billboards outlawed. They are simply pollution on the landscape and a driving hazzard.

Ad Rant: Is Al Franken trying to kill off the nightly news? (WalletPop)

Oct 23rd 2009 5:20PM Ban the damn ads all together. The FCC regulates all broadcasting, and the Constitution gives the feds all authority over interstate commerce. Let the drug salesmen educate the doctors, and stop pandering on TV and radio to the neurotic hypochondriacs ready to pop a pill for every imaginery discomfort.

Birkitt Reportedly Banned From CBS Set (PopEater)

Oct 9th 2009 1:02PM It is not sexual harassment unless 1) It's a blatant "attack" or 2) a "sexually hostile" work environment, or 3) it's extortion (quid pro quo), or 3) the "victim" specifically states a sexual advance is "unwelcome" and then it's repeated. It's a great law that works well.

Hit the mute! Why TV commercials are so loud, and how that may change (Daily Finance)

Oct 8th 2009 10:49AM Our Founders, in their wisdom, gave the federal government the responsibility to regulate interstate commerce. Commercials are a form of interstate commerce. We have a democraticly elected government to make the rules that help our society function.

Hit the mute! Why TV commercials are so loud, and how that may change (Daily Finance)

Oct 8th 2009 10:21AM Attention FCC and Legislators: Please stop the collusion among TV broadcasters to run commercials all at the same time. Coincidence? Not a chance.
And while I'm at it, get rid of the prescription drug commercials! Doctors can learn about new drugs from professional publications and drug sales people. Drug commercials on TV pander to the public's neurotic over-medication.

Mrs. Joe Wilson: Joe, Who Was the Nut? (Politics Daily)

Sep 16th 2009 9:08AM Joe Wilson is a bigot who belongs (or belonged) to the "Sons of the Confederancy" whose newsletters portray smiling slaves and benevolent slave traders. He expessed outrage when, as a younger man, he learned of his mentor's fathering a child with a black women. Wilson is a bigot who cannot stand to see a black man in a position of power. Burn in hell, Joe.

Joe Wilson: 'I Am Not Going to Apologize Again' (Politics Daily)

Sep 14th 2009 11:35AM Scum. Bigot. Fascist. Rude. Contributor to the break down of civil society and a (perhaps formerly) great democracy. The right wing will do anything to obstruct and discredit opponents, even if it means screwing the American people. We need health care reform, financial market regulation, and more. Bush and republicans created the trillion dollar deficit for FY09, and now Fox is blaming it on Obama. Traitors, all!

No summer fun for America's lobster fishermen (Daily Finance)

Sep 6th 2009 8:48AM Oh, sure! If the rich could only get richer, then they could eat more lobster, buy another washing machine, and hire another maid. It's the middle class that produces and spends, no the already wealthy. The rich can only consume so much stuff, then they buy a villa in Spain or put it in a Swiss bank account. Reagan was wrong. His budgets never balanced, he gave us the worst deficits, and he's responsible for our current dependence on foreign oil and trade imbalances. He may have been likeable, but he was a disaster for this country, and we're still paying the price.
