Oct 16th 2010 11:32AM Joe Paterno has always brought more to the game of football than passes and runs and fourth down tries. He's brought dignity and honor. He's never shied away from making his players better PEOPLE. Joe Pa epitomizes the old saying "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game." Old fashioned qualities like sportsmanship, which, in the era of parents screaming at Little League Coaches and bashing each other if their team doesn't win, could really be used.

More than any college coach out there, Paterno puts pressure on his players to be "good men." "Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good." His boys graduate with an education, a sense of purpose, and as leaders; not just in their often short lived careers in football but also off the field. Quite frankly, David Whitney, you aren't fit for Joe Pa to wipe his black shoes on - not that he would. After all, Paterno is a man who won't allow end line theatrics because it dishonors the other team. Football, in Paterno's world isn't just about winning, it's about the deeper, truer meaning of being a winner, and you would do well to win from the greatest college football coach of all time.

Mar 4th 2010 12:44PM Gender identification is only partly nurtured. The strongest determining factor is genetic. Maybe Shiloh is transgendered and her parents are wonderfully loving and accepting by allowing her to express her true self. Only time will tell if this just a phase, or how Shiloh truly wishes to present herself to the world, but I think her parents are handling the issue correctly. I'd much rather my four year old dress like a boy than be tarted up like a lot of little girls I see these days.

Bob Dylan, part of that big 60's "F*&# the Establishment" youth culture, rebelling against their curmudgeonly elders, has now reached the age of being an established (and obviously curmudgeonly, based on his reaction) elder musician, only to be slighted by the newest round of "F*&# the Establishment" youth culture.

I guess it's true that what goes around, comes around. The big question here is, "How does it feel," Bob? So the important lesson here, for all concerned, is to remember that how you do unto others today, may be how others do unto you forty years from now.

Sep 17th 2006 9:32PM Ahhh, so this explains where all the decent looking bags are- in posh shops! Not your el cheapo Macy's or Nordstroms, and definitely not your serviceable but total tripe Target! No wonder I've been unable to find something I like! I've been shopping in the wrong places.

Seriously though, I really love this bag, which says something, because I've only found one bag I would plonk down the money for in the past five years. I mean, I love the Birkin bag, but with the birth of my third child, I had to sacrifice handbag heaven for a new Honda Odyssey. And I would seriously buy this Coach bag, if only I could persuade my family to give up eating for a month. Well, ok, maybe not the WHOLE family, just the children. But heck, when they eat, they just grow bigger anyways, right? And that means more new clothes for them, and no cool bags for me ever.

So, should I not win, I guess the kiddies will got on the new "Coach Diet" - water and pbj's for a month so Mom can afford to buy a Hamptoms. Just think how good the baby's pacifier will look, being fished out from such a classy piece of pebbled leather!!
