Determining civil and criminal liability for the lost iPhone (TUAW.com)

Apr 27th 2010 6:10PM You left out the fact that Apple repeatedly denied to the original posessor, and to public in general, that they were missing a prototype. So as far as any length of time of possession, it took until Apple stopped publicly lying about the phone, until the actual owner could be ascertained.

Second it was not known even the likely owner until it was disassembled and apple labeled chips were inside. Just because the screen looked different, doesn't mean it wasn't someone's hack.

To me the reasonable action when being given someone's phone by mistake that someone found in a bar and thought was your - is to wait for a call from the owner, or look at the phone book and try to find someone who can ID the phone. Apple wiped the phone within hours of the end of the drunken evening - giving the posessor no real opportunity to rightly find the owner.

The posted info on the owner was likely not extracted until Gizmodo worked over the hardware.

Don't buy these dollar store duds (WalletPop)

Oct 8th 2009 3:50PM Dollar General is good but Dollar Tree is horrible they sell pretend garbage that "looks like" real products

Tinfoil - very tiny roll, really thin stuff too.
Laundry Soap and detergent contain alcohol
Toothpicks - are like splinters; no strength
Lighters - flame too high, practically blow up
Food - SCARY! Who knows what's in it? Melamine?

Most normal items that are good quality are packaged in a way to give you a very tiny qunatity in a normal size looking container.

There are more I can't recall, but my impression after the last shopping trip was that have given up on any value proposition, and most of these products are a cheap trick. They just want to fool you once and don't care if you come back. I certainly wont go back.
