It's called having compassion, because not everyone who lives in your precious, sanctimonious HOA neighborhood is an 81-year-old Korean vet who just suffered a heart attack. Not everyone is at the same level of need as this man at this particular point in time. It's about showing kindness for this moment in his life and what he's contributed to all our lives. What exactly have you done to contribute to others' lives aside from sit on your HOA board? It sounds like you think you're much more important than you are, a snobby, petty, heartless person. P.S. Do some research on the horrors faced by Korean vets. That this man came through that shows the strength of his character. I don't think you'd last a day.

Jan 25th 2012 2:18PM Actually, toward the end of the article it says neighbors did make donations to cover the full expense of his debt, and he should be able to stay in his home. Thank God for them having hearts, because the neighborhood HOA and the judge surely don't. I don't care what my job was, if I had a choice and the power to foreclose upon or help an 81-year-old vet who just suffered a heart attack, I'd help no matter what the cost to me.

If "what she liked" was just the look of the piece itself her reaction wouldn't change between Coach or Chanel, but for her, the label made all the difference. The key words are in bold: "... makes no difference TO HIM" (extra clue, not HER). Well, I for one can't relate to that, it sounds shallow to me, but I don't make millions of dollars off sparkly-teen vamp flicks, either. So I'm not going to call you stupid, because I don't like calling people names, but maybe you should read it, too.
