Jun 14th 2010 1:18AM I don't understand why everyone thinks the writer sounds so selfish. It's her opinion of good and bad gift ideas, and she's entitled to it. The times have indeed changed, and I personally think going off of a registry is a lot easier for someone, especially if you don't know the mother/bride extremely well. I would feel a lot better knowing that the gift I gave someone was actually being used instead of collecting dust. And nobody ever said you HAD to buy them something off the registry. It's just a guideline for the gift-impaired.
When my sister was married and had her child, of course people didn't every thing from the registry. People gave her plenty of other gifts that were still very appreciated. Just because someone sets up a registry doesn't mean they are selfish or ungrateful.

Miley Cyrus has just as many, if not double what this dude has. She hasn't threatened to sue Facebook. People are entitled to their opinions.
