Has Google Made Dictionaries Obsolete? (Switched)
Sep 9th 2009 10:13AM I disagree with this premise. I used the dictionary just yesterday to look up a word with my third-grader. The computer was in the same room but dictionaries are still very important for school-aged children and parents should make sure their children know how to use them. There is rich information in the better dictionaries that I'm not sure you necessarily find via Google.
And let's remember, not every child has a computer at their disposal. There is still a digital divide no matter how affordable computers have become.
