21-Year-Old Genius Offers Solution to the Oil Crisis (Lemondrop)

Jun 3rd 2010 3:00PM I think what they should do is re-drill it before it is plugged. It should decrease the pressure coming from the leaking area. If they can get control of the oil before the pressured oil reaches the surface then the leak stops.

What Happens When Customer Complaints Are Scams (Slashfood)

Feb 19th 2010 10:03AM I will call restaurants and complain and every time I'm offered a refund or food I decline the offer and instead suggest that they better train their service staff to take care of their customers more adequately. This approach seems appreciated by management who are then certain you aren't one of these food scammers.

Pay for the McChicken, call and say "Hey I requested apple fries and they gave me french fries" and then move on.

Johnny Weir 'Loves Wearing Dead Animals,' Calls Animal Rights Activists 'Crazy Fur People' (Stylelist)

Feb 18th 2010 9:24AM Bravo for saying that other people shouldn't force their beliefs on you.

I would never wear fur. Not because I'm an animal rights activist, but because I'd look silly.

I am pretty sick of animal rights activists going overboard with their protests. If you believe in capitalism then you believe in man ruling over beast. Just like the wealthy lord over the poor.

The Coming Foreclosure Flood (Housingwatch)

Feb 18th 2010 9:15AM Simple Solution...everyone who has been laid off and is on unemployment should get a break on interest and a reduced payment on their home loan until they are able to get a new job.

Some people would abuse a program like this, but others who would want to get back into enjoying luxuries would earnestly seek unemployment.

Swastika, Barack Obama's Name Dug Into Golf Course Green (Fanhouse Golf Blog)

Oct 14th 2009 9:23AM Well...it's still vandalism even if you want to make the free speech argument.

Also free speech is and can be limited by law. For instance you can go to jail for shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theatre when no danger is present.

So too you can go to jail for speech that is a threat to the president. It doesn't matter if it is Barack Obama or George Bush Sr. if the president or an ex president is threatened then the Secret Service is called in and it's likely that you're going to see some federal prison time.

How Thieves Make Fake Credit Cards (Switched)

Aug 3rd 2007 10:24AM Vicki:

Going back to Checks isn't the best way to avoid being defrauded. Checks can be stolen or copied just as easily as anything else. All someone needs is your routing number, your account number and then a check printer which can be purchased nearly anywhere and they're more than likely going to be able to print off checks in your name and get at your money. Couple these scenarios with fake IDs which have always been fairly easy to get for anyone who wants to get them and you're at just as much risk using checks if not more. At least with most VISA debit cards you're not responsible for unauthorized purchases.
