Update: Calvin Klein's Racy Billboard - Will It Be Banned? (Stylelist)

Jun 15th 2009 11:08PM So the high and mighty Europeans speak as if they're experts on healthy relationships - sexual or otherwise. There's no issue w/ sex being embraced as normal and healthy among Americans. Look at the movies Americans flock to and all the sex on tv if you need proof. The issue w/ this ad is that it is in very poor taste. It cheapens relationships and sex to nothing more than lusting for lusting's sake. No surprise here as many relationships are about sex as lust and nothing more. It's still a tasteless way to relate to another.

America is Now a Pro-Life Nation (Politics Daily)

May 15th 2009 1:05PM Absolutely no one, other than someone who is morally corrupt, would advocate the killing of an unborn child. Why don't the prolifers get this?? No one is Proabortion. Anyone who has had an abortion would have preferred NOT to have made that decision.

Let's get beyond that as it clouds the issue and we go in circles about it. The issue is -- for me, included, as a prolifer -- how does one human being dictate to another human being what to do in their own personal decision-making? None of us should be in a position to dictate to another person about anything, unless of course it's a parent rearing a child -- and even then the relationship should not be dictatorial, but one of teaching and correcting in love.

Obama doesn't believe in abortion per se. He is torn w/ a woman's right to choose. That's were many who are prolife and prochoice are torn. That's the issue.

Possibly new legislation may help prevent unwanted pregnancy or encourage women to give birth in more of these cases. For example, the men involved w/ any unwanted pregnancy could be held accountable, an issue that has yet to be put on the table in cases of unwanted pregnancy. Maybe if the unborn's fathers were required by law to, say, ante up $25,000-40,000 as child support, more unwanted pregnancies would be prevented and also more mothers would be encouraged to give birth and to raise their babies. Financial liability in the case of unwanted pregnancy has all but been ignored by the prolife movement and legislators.

Michelle Obama and the Arms Debate (Stylelist)

Mar 5th 2009 1:18AM To those who say Michelle Obama's dress style lacks class: You lack class to even comment as such. The First Lady has fashion advisors with far more experience in fashion than some of those posting these rude posts. Get some class yourself before being so high and mighty and passing bad judgement.

Michelle Obama and the Arms Debate (Stylelist)

Mar 5th 2009 1:12AM Michelle is nothing short of stunning in her official White House portrait! Her sleeve cut toward the neckline is classy and savvy. She looks absolutely superb!! For the style stiffs who complain about the First Lady's taste in dress: Who asked them for their opinion in the first place?? And why do they think they are an expert on style?? Maybe they can learn a thing or two from the First Lady if they just open their minds and experience something new and refreshing! Thank You Michelle for your fresh, smooth stylish look and for the courageous, classy lady that you are!!

Michelle Obama and the Arms Debate (Stylelist)

Mar 4th 2009 11:20PM I find it very interesting that Michelle Obama's style of dress is is constantly being examined by the media. Of course, she has a very fine sense of style, but these media "under the magnifying glass" critiques are way overboard. The lady looks great in her style choices. Everyone is not expected to like them -- it's what pleases her and Barack Obama that is her chief concern, and rightfully so. Today, we see the media is also focusing on the cost of the menu at the White House Wednesday night dinners. When it comes to the Obamas, the media is looking like a micromanaging freak show!

Olympic Silver Medalist Kills Himself (Fanhouse Backporch)

Feb 19th 2009 10:02PM Ellen, You don't understand the altered reality of someone who is suicidal. They are DETACHED from the bonds between spouses and between parents and children and friends. There is a huge DISCONNECT from the normal emotional ties with loved ones. Their feelings DEADEN. They feel ISOLATED and WITHDRAWN from others and from their normal everyday lives. Their own body may be experienced as an object that is DISPISED because it keeps them in this DEADENED EXISTENCE. They are attempting to escape a LIFE OF DREAD AND EMPTINESS when they make a suicidal attempt. Their awareness is absorbed by this altered reality and that is what they respond to when a suicidal attempt is made. No hope exists that they can ever feel again or be truly alive again. The believe their ability to function as a husband (wife), parent, friend, son, daughter is forever lost.

Olympic Silver Medalist Kills Himself (Fanhouse Backporch)

Feb 19th 2009 9:48PM Depression develops from external factors such as loss of a job, divorce or broken relationship, devastating accident, grief and other major emotional circumstances. But internal factors, such as biochemistry, hormones, serious or life threatening illness and substance abuse, also play a role. If you add the the interplay of some or many of these factors, it's easier to understand how deeply depression may disturb normal behavior. It can impair attention, concentration, memory, appetite, sleep and energy. So if one is employed it may be difficult to perform adequately, which causes still more distress and worsening of depression itself. Be merciful and thankful that you're so disconnected from this reality that you can flippantly pass judgement on someone who has succumbed to it. No one asks for this debilitating illness to live with.

5 Questions With: Sherri Shepherd (Inside TV Blog)

Dec 12th 2008 10:44AM Big deal that Sherry Shepherd said they need more Black people in the cast to play her character - hell'o, she is a Black woman. Same problem happened with SNL trying to play Barack and Michelle Obama. SNL didn't have the most talented of people to play them and, in my view, the skit was a flop. And for those who talk the crap about slavery being over so flippantly: You get a life as you so carelessly tell others whose ancestors lived the terror of American slavery and their own parents or themselves suffered under Jim Crow right up until the 1960's. Get some education and decency and learn to respect others' life experiences. Yes, may the day truly come when, as MLK,Jr said, all people can be judged by their character and not their skin color.

Barack Obama Not Buying Michelle Obama $30k Ring (Politics Daily)

Dec 2nd 2008 9:05PM An official at the Hawaiian dept of birth records has said they have Obama's original birth certificate on file and produced a copy of it. What is the motive for Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, covering up if Obama was in fact born in Kenya? It makes no sense that she would do so or had to do so. Besides, why would Obama's father cover it up and the Dunhams and Obamas cover it up? And to think Barack Obama,Sr, and Ann Dunham engaged in an illegal act of forgery to get a Hawaiian birth certificate at risk of the Obamas being expelled from the University of Hawaii. There's just no logic in the Kenyan birth story.

Top Goldman Sachs (GS) execs take no bonuses (BloggingStocks)

Nov 17th 2008 10:40AM How is it that Goldman Sachs is expected to do any less than refuse bonuses to top execs??!! Their salaries should be cut in half as well under the bailout package. The American taxpayers SHOULD NOT be contributing to the wealth of ANY of the executives throughout the GS corporate hierarchy!! In ordinary life, these people would have been fired long ago. It's been years that corporate execs have received huge salaries, perks and bonuses even when they fail to meet financial expectations. They leave their positions in these cases with massive retirement packages. The Government should have as a major condition of the bailout that no bonuses would be allowed until every nickel of the bailout money is REPAID to the US treasury. I pray the bailout is not another fleecing of the American taxpayer.
