Ferrari 250 GTO Sold to Private Buyer for $30 Million? [UPDATED] (Luxist)
May 15th 2010 8:48PM I have to agree with you, Samantha. I try not to judge people, whether by money, sex, race, whatever... but I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that this car was bought for $18 million dollars. I like a cool car the same as the next guy, but, this is a hunk of metal that will sit in the garage, only to be driven once in a while on a nice sunny day. There are so many people suffering from hunger, homelessness, disease... it's a shame, really.
Mom's Fight to Hang Her Laundry Outside Gets Dirty (ParentDish)
Mar 22nd 2010 9:36PM That is one reason that I will never live in a neighborhood that has an 'Association'. They are getting worse and worse!! No fences, no clotheslines, only so many cars in the drive, no gardens... where does it end? Ridiculous!! Nothing better than fresh sheets hung in the sunshine!! Keep hangin', Girl!! ;o)
Chubby, Stubbly Geeks? The Secret Guy 'Types' Women Lust After (Lemondrop)
Mar 18th 2010 12:10AM I think most women will agree that a guy can be the geekiest, chubbiest, hairiest guy, but if he has confidence - not ego - and shows you a gorgeous smile, twinkling eyes and/or an awesome sense of humor, we'll think he is adorable!! Look at Kevin James!! I just adore him!! He is so cute and you know he'd treat you like a queen!! If a guy like that acts like you are the only woman that turns him on and just goes, Grrrrrr, when he looks at you, we're on him!! ;o)
Controversial 'Remember Me' Ending Dividing Critics and Audiences (Moviefone Blog)
Mar 16th 2010 12:25AM If a critic hates a movie, I usually love it. Critics are usually just pompous snobs who will decide before they even see a movie, if they are going to 'like' it, or not. Rob Pattinson will have to fight extra hard to get past the Twilight fanchise because, somewhere along the line, some snobby critic decided it was lame and let everyone know it. No matter what he does from now on, there will be critics who look down on him - and the rest of the Twilight cast, too. Too bad they fail to remember that Twilight was written for tweens and young adults by a writer who never wrote anything before. It would be nice if we lived in a world where people looked for the good in things instead of always searching for the bad. Kudos, Mr. Pattinson!! May you have a long and lustrious career.
Barbie Gets Edgy New Makeover (Lemondrop)
Mar 11th 2010 6:49PM Having a tat and/or living in a trailer do not make you a certain kind of person. The way you show respect for yourself is what makes you what/who you are. If you get a 'Tramp Stamp' and flaunt it by wiggling your backside in men's faces and follow up with 'trampy' behavior, well, that is just showing everyone that you don't think very highly of yourself. I do not, however, think that Barbie should have a tramp stamp purely because very young girls play with her and I personally think that they should be kept as innocent as possible until there is a need to know. (ie. Mom, what's a tramp stamp?) I do, however, think that parents should talk openly about morals, self-respect and sex appropriate to their age. An informed girl is a safe and respected girl - with or without a 'stamp'.

Opinion: Is Tweeting Our Family Tragedies the New Normal? (ParentDish)
Mar 11th 2010 6:31PM I don't know if I would be Twittering if I was going through a similar situation, as I am a very private person, but I think it is a wonderful idea!
Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest and talk or write about them and, caring for a sick child doesn't really allow you to get out and around people. There is a site called CaringBridge that is basically the same thing. You register for free and use it to update friends and family. You can post pictures and decorate with different themes, and people can leave messages and comments. Most people find this an excellent way to keep in touch in a really tragic situation. We may be suffering from loss of face-to-face interaction, but we certainly are not suffering from making new friends. If anything, keeping tabs on Layla and her family brought perfect strangers together to share their grief and comfort a family.

A Room With A (Point Of) View (ParentDish)
Feb 28th 2010 11:23PM I agree with you, Carol, but you did wait until she was old enough to start her own life and gave her a deadline. I think what the author is saying is, when is it time? Personally, I think a child's room should be theirs until they graduate from college and move out on their own. They should take all of their stuff with them and know that their room is no longer theirs now that they are 'grown'. Taking over your child's room as soon as they go away to college is, to me, almost like saying you couldn't wait for them to get out. When they do come home for the summer, holidays, etc..., its like they no longer 'belong'.
P.S. Good luck with the end of March deadline!! ;o)
