Obese passenger forces neighbor on US Airways flight to stand for 7 hours (Gadling)
Nov 23rd 2011 9:38PM Rather than dumping all the HATE on the "fat man", perhaps we should look at the REALLY guilty party--the airlines. They cram seats so closely together that only a small, short person can be comfortable. I keep reading all these horrible comments about the "fat man" but what about tall people? The last time I flew, I couldn't recline my seat at all, and every time the tall man behind me shifted, he kicked me in the back. I didn't complain he was too TALL because I know it's the greed of the airlines forcing as many people as possible into tiny airborne tubes.
Arizona High School to Charge Students $25 to Graduate (Just So You Know)
May 27th 2011 11:07PM I'm a teacher who hasn't had a raise since 2008--and doesn't have a contract for next year (I'm at a charter school w/1-yr contracts) because we don't have a budget yet. I certainly can understand the need to get a little help--and as the article states, students who CAN'T afford it aren't expected to pay.
Jennifer Hudson's Oscar Dress 'Didn't Have Enough Support' Says Stylist Elyse Walker (PopEater)
Feb 28th 2011 8:59PM I thought Jennifer's dress was exquisite, but her boobs looked like she was smuggling big hamburger buns. Not a good look.
Why My E-Reader Will Never Replace My Bookshelf (Shelterpop)
Jan 4th 2011 10:10PM I have a Kindle app on my iPhone. I use it when I'm stuck in traffic or waiting in a doctor's office. But I will NEVER, EVER give up paper books. I love the sensory experience that one can only get from books. Additionally, why carry an extra electronic device? On my phone, it's convenient. Otherwise, if I have to carry something, I'm carrying a BOOK. Furthermore, MANY books aren't even available in the electronic format. I love technology--but an e-reader will never replace books for me.
Lady Gaga Debuts New Bob Hairstyle (Stylelist)
Nov 6th 2010 8:49AM Most of the nasty comments here have come from people who've never bothered to LISTEN to Lady Gaga. She has an incredible voice--which is WHY she's a star. Stop being so judgmental, people...listen, really listen to her music, and then if you don't think she's talented, you're entitled to your opinion.
The Best Haircut for Your Personality (Stylelist)
Sep 16th 2010 6:07PM I've reported your racist post. Go somewhere and spew your hatred...this isn't the place for it.
I'm not sure that there IS a place for it...a KKK meeting, perhaps???
SmackDown: Should a Kid Be Allowed to Scream at a Restaurant? (ParentDish)
Sep 10th 2010 4:17PM Now that restaurants aren't allowing smoking, why not convert the former smoking sections into "children-friendly" sections? When you are being seated, you can state your preference. Btw, mine would ALWAYS be "no children".
Jamie Lee Curtis Says Recovery From Drug Addiction Is Her 'Single Greatest Accomplishment' (PopEater)
Sep 8th 2010 1:35AM Wow...judge much? She (and most of the women you mention) have or have had SHORT HAIR, so that automatically makes them...what? Men? Lesbians? You're 11, right? And this was your first time posting on the "big peoples' board"? Well, kiddo, not your best work. Sorry. Try again.
Teacher Fired After Criticizing Colleagues, Parents on Facebook, We Say 'Duh' (Switched)
Aug 20th 2010 11:34AM @(Unverified) "They're into teaching because they work short days, have summers off, get every conceivable holiday off, time off for conventions, lucrative pay, unbelievable pensions and health benefits, and the work is easy. All of this is done at taxpayer expense. Meanwhile, all they do is cry poor."
I find your attitude to be poor, and your "information" is faulty. I'm a teacher--my "short" workday begins at 7:30am and ends somewhere around 5:30 or 6:00pm. Then I leave school and spend another hour--or two or three--grading papers and writing lesson plans. I also work weekends--often IN my classroom. Yes, I have summers off--but most summers, I'm enrolled in classes so that I can become a BETTER teacher. I haven't had a raise in three years. I have a Master's degree and after NINETEEN years in this business, I earn $52,000/year. New teachers this year started at $26,500. Please do NOT go on and on about the things about which you know NOTHING. I teach because I LOVE it. I LOVE my children; I love my colleagues; I love the impact I make on the future. I HATE ignorance--which you have demonstrated quite handily!!!
Woman Gets Conned Out of $90,000 on Match.com (Lemondrop)
Jul 17th 2010 9:36AM I don't think that ANYONE should judge this poor woman. It's easy to sit back and label her as "stupid" or "desperate", but she was trying to fulfill the most basic of human needs--she wanted to be LOVED.
These guys are PROFESSIONAL con men...they do it all the time--and I'm sure they've conned their share of MEN as well as women.
I was on MySpace until I started getting emails from men who claimed to be widowers with children (usually a 'daughter'--guess they think women are more likely to 'fall' for a man raising a girl on his own). Because I teach English, I have NO TROUBLE recognizing English that's been written by someone for whom it is a second language. I reported these men to MySpace. When it happened again and again, I deleted my MySpace page.
Don't judge, people..."There but for the grace of God..." It can happen to anyone with a good heart.
