May 18th 2011 8:58AM The comments here crack me up. "this is tasteless" or "what a waste of time" or any of the others that people make to bash the people doing this. Enough people have already mentioned it is for charity, but even if it wasn't, I don't see how this creates any problems. Don't get involved with something like this if you don't have any interest. People do this sort of thing all over the world. Mock them for being nerds or whatever, but at least they are out there, doing something they have fun with, instead of griping over the computer about what the "point" of this is...as if there needs to be a point. Half the stuff we do in this world doesn't have a point, and more often than not, there are plenty of people who would mock your hobbies or interests if they were posted in video footage on the internet. So laugh at these people, but get a grip, because there are people out there laughing at you as well.

Really? Forced to sit through what? A song that takes a couple of minutes of their lives? Does the songs roots in a war scare you? Should we all instead be docile little lambs who should forget about the wars and the flag that was raised in victory, or that it was even still there as we fought the wars? We can't be reminded of how great this country is, ESPECIALLY now, when times are tough and there are wars still going on over seas?
Just because someone butchers the National Anthem during the Superbowl doesn't mean there is something wrong with the song. It just gives an excuse for someone like you to come along and once again state how irrelevant a song that was written two centuries ago is...and while you are at it, why don't you tell us how irrelevant some of the documents that were written back in that time frame are as well? How could anything that happened two centuries ago have any relevance to what is going on today?

This song reminds me that there are things worth fighting for. Sure, I may know little about the specific battle that was fought that inspired this song, but I know there have been countless battles before and since where our flag was still there, and inspired great men to do great things because our banner yet waved over the land of the free and the home of the brave.

But sure, go ahead and forget history. Dismiss it because how dare we celebrate our flag in the "times we are living through" because you and others like you are embarrassed by it. Forget the sacrifices, because you can't stand to spend a few minutes of your life before a ball game with your hand over your heart, your hat removed, and your eyes pointed at our flag. Because that is just not worth doing anymore, right?

Feb 8th 2011 10:17AM I am starting to feel sorry for Christina. I will admit that there was a part of me that was filled with devilish glee at her mistake, because like everyone else, I have this twisted part of me that likes to watch celebrities crumble, but the backlash has been so profound to this that I can't imagine how horrible she feels after making this mistake.
I know she is a professional and has dealt with large crowds countless times, but being human means that we all screw up sooner or later. I have made more mistakes than I care to share here in my lifetime, so who am I to judge?

Really? I can remember life before that show, especially since I have never seen it. I think if this was some small budget deal about poor, sad little Peter Parker and was done with minimal special effects, it might...ah, never mind. It is a stupid idea, no matter how you slice it.

Even if she is graduating from college and won't be in the service industry anymore, not too many employers like the idea of hiring someone who they think is going to bad mouth them all over the place. Better she just stick with the apology and let this one die quietly so potential employers don't know anything about how she lost her last job.
