End Black History Month? I Beg to Differ (Blackvoices Main)
Feb 5th 2009 2:57PM blacks today are far better off because of slavery. sure slavery was awful but grandchildren and greatgrandchildren of slaves should be thanking america for getting them the heck out of africa. what a dump of a continent. one of the oldest yet one of the least developed. if not for slavery obama would be running around the plains with a bone through his nose as would most of the blacks in this country. it worked out for everyone.
Slash Battling Lily Tomlin Over Zoo Elephant (Spinner)
Jan 19th 2009 9:50AM first of all no amount of room is enough for an elephant. space issues aside, billy boy would be in hell living in the wild. ever visitied any countries where elephants live in the wild? utterly disgusting places that are not safe for people or animals.
lastly who gives a crap about a stupid elephant there are hundreds of thousands of PEOPLE without enough living space or food. tomlin and stoner slash should be fighting for the rights of starving and abused children not some stupid elephant.
Mom Gives Public Punishment To Son, 12, Accused Of Bullying (ParentDish)
Jun 6th 2008 8:22AM if this woman was doing a good job all along it would never have come to this point. kids don't just wake up one day and decide to be bullies and creeps. it's a progression. i think this is a case of too much too late.
Females Flock to Facebook to Post Pictures of Their Drunken Antics (Switched)
Feb 1st 2008 2:24PM total pigs. it's sad these women have no self-respect. anyone who drinks to that level obviously has a problem with alcohol and needs mental help. do these women realize how dangerous this behavior is? passing out drunk in the street is nothing to be proud of and it leaves one open to all sorts of violation. how funny is it gonna be when they come to and realize they have some dirty strangers c*ck in them? very very sad.
Effects of universal pre-K on cognitive development (ParentDish)
Sep 4th 2006 10:10AM My comment is directed to the moms who stated they do not have the "luxury" of staying home with their kids. Staying home with kids is nowhere near a luxury. When my first son was born I worked full-time outside the home and had him in a top of the line daycare center. I felt that I was really doing what was in my best interest and not his, so I took classes, started over, and got a great work from home job. Because I do not wish to appear detached I only work early mornings and evenings once my kids have gone to bed. It's very difficult but I think that's what's best for the kids. I do not feel priveleged to stay home with my kids. I did what I had to do to be there for them. Taking care of kids full-time is the hardest thing I've ever done. It's not a luxury. My hardest day working outside the home was alot easier then my easiest day staying home with kids. Parents who dump their kids in daycare probably spend only a few hours a day with them. They don't have to be concerned with teaching manners, enforcing rules and fair play, monitoring food intake, tracking development. That's all been left for a practical stranger to deal with. I understand that some families need two incomes to survive. But more often I see mothers and fathers who both work to meet their own needs and maintain a standard of living for themselves. Daycare and preshool are not what's best for kids, they're what's best for parents. If moms really wanted to live the "luxury life" of staying home with their kids then they'd do what they had to do to make that happen.
