Ask the AKC Animal Behaviorist: How Can I Help My Co-dependent Canine? (Pawnation OLD)
Feb 22nd 2011 9:31AM You did miss something. Holly has hip problems and can't run when Rudy, who needs running to release his pent up energy, goes for a run. They aren't talking that they leave the dog for 12 hours by herself. What are they supposed to do, keep Rudy at home and have him be a lunatic because he can't get his exercise?
Although, if this is the primary time when they are apart, what about one of those strollers people buy to exercise with their children? Adapt it so that it holds Hollie and you get a bonus work out as well.
Mistress Day, February 13th -- the Holiday for Cheaters? (MyDaily)
Feb 5th 2011 8:14AM I won't let the media, corporate world sully my close friend's birthday by calling it the Other Woman or Mistress Day. My friend is as classy as they come. Other women? Wake up and smell the coffee or the leftover wine. A man is where he wants to be. Christmas morning, opening gifts with his family? Taking his wife out for Valentine's Day? That is where he wants to be. Not with you. Get some self-respect.
Ellen DeGeneres and Halo Donate 1 Million Meals to Shelter Pets (Pawnation OLD)
Dec 29th 2010 4:27PM I am willing to bet that Ellen gives way more than "10%" that the Bible recommends to various organizations, including children's hospitals and other organizations. I'd be willing to bet that dollar for dollar, she gives more than you ever did in your entire life. IF you make $20,000 a year and she makes $20 million a year, I guarantee she is giving a greater percentage of that $20 million than you would ever consider giving from your salary. So, don't be so quick to jump to conclusions - including, I am not gay, not even a little bit gay. Just a huge animal lover and rescuer of cats.
Ellen DeGeneres and Halo Donate 1 Million Meals to Shelter Pets (Pawnation OLD)
Dec 29th 2010 4:23PM Dear Gary,
The Bible says, "The poor you will have with you always." There are many organizations that help the poor and many people who hand out a $20 to the guy holdiing the "homeless" sign in the meridian at various roads along the way (I'm sure you are one who gives at least that much.) Unfortunately, there are many rescue organizations that never experience the generosity of people like Ellen DeGeneres because we're not nationally recognized organizations but rather local groups who try to make a difference. Interestingly, since you brought up helping the less fortunate, there are many people who are homeless because they couldn't take their pets with them where they wanted to go and they'd rather live in a bush with Fido or Fluffy then to turn them over to a shelter. For those of you who support the nationally recognized groups, check in your own back yard - before the 30th for tax write off donations to your local rescue groups - check Petco, Petsmart to see who they are - as a local cat rescue in Central Florida, we'd love to get a donation right now to help offset our end of year deficit. Have a safe, happy and joy filled New Year!
Grandson Won't Sleep in His Own Bed! (ParentDish)
Nov 20th 2010 7:53AM I used to think it was horrible that my friend let her 9 year old son sleep in the bedroom with her husband and her (in their bed, between them). Often, when he fell asleep, they would carry him across the house to his room and when they woke in the morning, he would be there between them. I berated them on how wrong that was, it was perverted, bla bla. He has turned out to be a beautiful, smart, polite, kind young man with no hang ups. In retrospect and having read some of the comments here, esp. about the fact that we do want our children to sleep independently while we have a partner with us really made it real. At the most vulnerable time of a child's life, we shut the door on them. Wow. Ok, Granma, time for you and I to butt out and let the parents know that maybe they could put a day bed or futon in their bedroom for their little guy for now. There, that satisfies me (and, btw, for all of you intimacy mongers, they are pregnant how did that happen? Obviously, they figured out how to "do it" on their own with the child in or out of the bedroom!)
Vogue Names Kate Moss Best Dressed Woman of the Decade (Stylelist)
Nov 19th 2010 8:47PM Michelle Obama is not a pretty woman but she presents herself well. A lot of her clothes make her look pregnant and when she wears her famous wide belts, she looks round-shouldered. She does best in solid colors, smooth fabric in fuscia, purple and should stay away from the chenille bedspread she wore for the inaugural ball. The yellow brocade draperies she wore on inauguration day was baby poop yellow and ugly on her. But, there are times when she does look great and, she has great arms so she should flaunt them. But if you look at her features, her jaw is really big, sort of like the Planet of the Apes appearing. I don't know that she has found her hair style yet, but then, Hillary Clinton went through that as well. (And, sorry, Bush First Ladies, but your hair was totally boring.) That said, I think folks who think she is channeling Jacke Kennedy are sadly mistaken. Michelle O, you aint Jackie and never will be and your husband did not bring us to the days of Camelot.
Nick Lachey Is Engaged Again, but Are He and Jessica Simpson Meant to Be? (PopEater)
Nov 14th 2010 6:54AM I'm on board with it. They were cute together. My husband married his ex-wife when she was out of high school and the marriage was doomed. Now, 30 something years later, she is the woman he thought she was (but couldn't be, that doesn't happen until you go through the years) and they enjoy a great friendship. I believe if something happened to her husband or me, that my husband and his ex would get back together and it would be a great thing for both of them (just not now, when I'm still around!)
So, I totally get the article, and I am there with you.
As for Ms. Simpson, she hasn't been with THAT many men since their divorce so don't paint her to be a sleep around. Other than John Mayer, her relationships have lasted more than a year and that's more than most marriages seem to last these days.
Jessica/Nick reunite once more! (Nick, make sure you have a pre-nup for this go-round!)
Jamie Lee Curtis Felt More Like a Fan of Her Father, Tony Curtis, Than a Daughter (VIDEO) (AOL TV)
Oct 25th 2010 7:56AM I can totally relate to what Ms. Curtis said about her father. Not everyone is cut out to be a parent and my mother is one of those people. Being a mother isn't what drove her and gave her being. She was a good mother but it wasn't her heart and soul. Instead of lamenting this, folks need to embrace that perhaps their parents were good people who created a child together and let it go at this. Making men change diapers, etc. should be something that is voluntary because the guy wants to, not because it's the 'proper' thing to do. As for a woman not wanting to change diapers? Sorry, you have the store and can make your own hours so if you don't want to do the mundane with children, you need not have any.
Networks Blocking Google TV, Ruining Our Good Time (Switched)
Oct 25th 2010 7:46AM That's a shame because we canceled our cable tv when the price went up to $140 per month and have no television capability (we have older tv's.). To be able to catch a program through google tv was attractive for me but, since the networks want to be jerks about it, they will get zero attention from me.
Report: Lindsay Lohan Will Voluntarily Enter Rehab (PopEater)
Sep 27th 2010 8:46AM You are hurtful and cruel. I think that LL should have to deal with her consequences and, that she should serve her sentence, but she is obviously screaming out for help. She won't get sober until she wants to get sober. Think Britney Spears, whose outlandish behavior cost her the custody of her children but once she got the appropriate help she needed, she turned her life around. LL doesn't need her obviously dysfunctional family behind her other than the family therapy sessions but she needs help, not your condemnation or judgment. What secrets lurk in your closet? And, is it A.B. or Ab as in a name - if so, I know who you are and am horrified at the hypocrisy.
