Hard Rock Cafe in Minimum Wage Class Action Suit (AOL Jobs)

Jan 20th 2011 11:35AM The problem here that most people do not understand is that 1) Florida is a right to work state (in other words if you come in 1 day and the boss is in a bad mood he/she can fire you you have NO RECOURSE end of statement!) 2) MOST of Florida's income is based on prople coming in on vacation - problem here is that in a lot of countries and South America people DO NOT TIP. WHY? They are not being rude. It is because the tip is already figured into their meal in their coutry and they do not know that we tip for good service in this country..that simple.
Florida and their "amusement parks" set a trend that has been followed through out the state now in the service industry. I don't agree with it having been an Executive Chef all over the world for over 25 years. But if you want to work in Florida you shut up and put up and that is how it is.

NOW Sues Hooters (Lemondrop)

Dec 22nd 2010 9:56AM AND YOU WONDER WHY I MOVED FROM CALIFORNIA? Maybe we should NOW throw the women down the people hole covers (formerly known as man covers to the rest of the county) and everyone that loves HOOTERS across the country all flush at once! Better yet NOW if you don't like what is going on in HOOTERS you have the freedom of choice (which I as a disabled veteran fought for you to have) to just NOT VISIT THAT ESTABLISHMENT - but one thing you don't have is the right to tell others what or how to live their lives. If you wish to do that I understand there are South American Countries (Mr. Chavez comes to mind) you would be welcome in.

Aretha Franklin Released From Hospital Under Cloud of Mystery (BV Newswire)

Nov 5th 2010 2:05PM Aretha Franklin is 1 of the greatest the ever has been - fat- skinny - black - white - yellow - tall - short - American - or European! To me as a red neck middle aged guy she put the fun in soul and the her soul in music. So all you haters out there get over yourselves - look at the LADIES HEART AND SOUL and quit looking at the outside. I can't believe that there is a 1 of you that has not heard her music and not enjoyed it at 1 time or another for just a moment.....Aretha hope you feel better soon or just retire and enjoy life as much as the world has enjoyed you. Thank You

Delta Plane Blows Four Tires (AOL Travel News)

Sep 18th 2010 5:09PM I tend to agree with you having sat ing the seat for a great many years with B-52's and KC-135's --- But I don't think we are getting the whole story here as usual and are only getting the highlights.

Is Listed Home a Crime Scene? How to Know Before You Buy (Housingwatch)

Jun 4th 2010 10:10AM I would not have a problem with a death or murder in my new home everyone dies - tough I would prefer that it be natural. The BIGGER problem is that so many listing realtors are crooks and desperate to sell a house they WON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING REQUIRED BY LAW!

We are a perfect example of listing broakers"omitting" important information. We bought a home Tropical Home Realty in Tampa FL in Sep 2009, 10 days after we signed the papers and moved in we found that the county is about to widen the road in front of our house from 4 lanes to 6. In addition, add wide side walks, bike lanes, and a PUT A STOP LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DRIVE WAY!(I live on a corner lot and now have been turned down on a new drive way permit so I HAVE NO PLACE TO PARK AT ALL AT MY OWN HOME!)
When speaking to the realtor and their attorney their response is "we never lived in the home - so we don't have to report these changes to you!" My realtor nor I had no reason to look for this information just as the average person would not have a reason to check to see if there had been a death or murder in their new home...there needs to be stronger laws that are enforcable.

Ad Rant: After obnoxious Staples ad, give me higher prices and lower volume (WalletPop)

May 1st 2010 8:02AM I have a simple way of solveing the problem and would recomend it to everyone else. when I get assulted by these commericals I simpley never shop at that store ever again. If you have to yell at me or turn up the volume on a commerical so loud that I can't speek to my wife sitting a few feet away with just showing your product - clearly you have a problem and don't need us as your customer

5 details wireless companies don't want you to know when choosing a plan (WalletPop)

Apr 15th 2010 2:42PM As said by a comic "you can't fix stupid!" - I agree with your post but only about 90%. As you can see I posted as unknown...you see I am a mystrey shopper for several major companies and I do shop cell stores both corp and independents.
I find that 90% of the folks are out there to help - but there are the ones that just have no idea what to do or are just there to collect a paycheck and I write it up that way.
If you don't get a friendly greeting in the first 30 seconds that you walk into a store or the employees are to busy playing grab (tush) or booty watching LEAVE they don't deserve you and usually don't care about the customer service

5 details wireless companies don't want you to know when choosing a plan (WalletPop)

Apr 15th 2010 2:29PM How do you uknow if your cell rep is liying to you? You can hear words coming out of their mouths! I love my AT&T -- But I really feel I got sc***wed a few months ago. I upped my minuets plan because we ran over and were looking at going over on a regular basis for a while. The phone rep guarenteed that any minuets we did not use would be in the roll over plan when we went back to the older rate. So we went from 1500 to 3000 minuets. Needless to say after a while things settled down and we did not need that big of a plan - but we also had rolled up over 5200 extra minuets so we went back to our lower plan minuets.
When our bill came out we only had 1200 minuets on it - I called and asked why and was told that when I changed plans back I LOST ALL THE MINUETS I HAD PAID FOR ON THE HIGHER RATE AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT! Needless to say being the redneck I am - I fought back - but the best they (AT&T) could do was "give me a 1000 minuets for my misunderstanding"
There was never any misunderstanding I make very clear notes and my wife was on the phone with me we know what we were told...So in short be very clear about any plans you are offered and GET IT IN WRITEING along with the name, date and most importently the TIME of the conservation so it can be back traced.

Two billion reasons why you pay to check bags (Gadling)

Mar 31st 2010 8:52AM To answer your questions. Yes she does have a cell phone. Yes she did check with the airline on the way and they said they were on time and flying (which was incorrect information as it turned out). And also she was being driven by 1 of her employees who had to get back to Steamboat Rock and open her (my daughters) business and did not have a cell phone. Also the airlines excuse was that they only contact people by E-mail not by cell phone to tell them that flight are cancled or delayed....calling would too "expensive" and "time consuming".
So as you can see this was entirely on the airline and not anyone else - which by the way had her come back the next day at the same time for the same flight, check in and left her sitting there AGAIN in the waiting area untill 1 hour after the plane was to depart before telling the passangers that the plane that had arrived to get them could not go because they had "miscaculated" the hours and the crew would not have enough hours left to make the flight to CA. "please come back tomarrow".
None of this makes any sense to me as a business man, and sure is a heck of a way to run a business if you plan on staying in business.
I hope this answers your questions, and thanks for responding you are right in 99% of cases most people live what I would consider close to the airport and would just go home. That was just not the case here comeing from a town of less than 7000 and in the snow, in the middle of no where she based her plans on flight information and 2 conformation calls (thought incorrect information was given 2 times)
Again thanks and have a great Easter Weekend
Dave V.

Two billion reasons why you pay to check bags (Gadling)

Mar 30th 2010 5:03PM The airlines keep crying about being broke...tough! My daughter was to take a flight out of DeMoine 2 months ago to CA. Her friend drove her 2 hours to the airport, after she arrived and went to check in the airline said "didn't you get the E-mail we sent 30 min ago - your flight has been cancled!" Now mind you she was on the road for 2 hours how the heck was she to get an E-mail? I HAD TO PAY TO TRANSPORT HER TO A HOTEL AND PUT HER UP FOR 2 DAYS!!! The airline did nothing for her at all except tell her she should have paid the $65 flight interpution insurance they offered!
We called the customer service hot line 3 times - to this day they have never bothered to return a call. And the airlines wonder why they are loosing money -plain and simple THEY JUST DON'T GET IT!
THEY NEED US - THE CONSUMER - WE DON'T NEED THEM
