Should airplanes have a kid's section? {ParentDish}
Aug 18th 2008 8:23PM a few years ago, i learned an unexpected lesson. I was returning from Vienna(wien) I happened to have alot of chocolate candy with me to give to my niece and nephew. A little kid who obviously was not well trained kept kicking my seat and pulling back on my headrest. I turned around and gave him a piece of candy asking him not to kick my seat(something the mom should have done) his mother complained that he was not allowed to have chicolate. I replied either he stops kicking my seat or i will give him chocolate. the brat heard this and kicked my seat, i threw a piece of chocolate at him. this happened about 3 more times, when the mother complained to the steward that i was giving the kid chocolate and to tell me to stop. just then the kid again kicked my seat, i threw him some chocolate, which the mom took from him, causeing the kid to lost it with a tantrum. The next time the kid kicked my seat, she smacked him, he never kicked my seat again. I now carry chocolate on every flight
Another disabled traveler horror story: Delta passenger with muscular dystrophy forced to crawl off plane {Gadling}
Jul 30th 2008 7:18PM maybe i have been fortunate, but every time my mother flies, she has had no problem with getting assistance with her wheelchair, she is escoprted(pushed) to connecting flights, all the airlines have been great with her, at the same time when booking the flights we leave a minimum of 2 hours between connecting flights(common sense when you need assistance)...i just wonder if her tickets were booked without her(or her family)taking into consideration her needs
Reward for missing dog at Washington Dulles {Gadling}
Jul 16th 2008 7:55PM i travel with my pet all the time. I spend quite alot of time in Europe and i would not think about leaving my dog home alone with sitters. Thankfully she is a small breed and travels under my seat. I do not care why the family was flying with their dog. They paid for a service to transport a live animal in a safe manner. The airline did not live up to their part of the bargain. I hope that the dog is safely returned to the family, in good health. The cynic in me fears the dog might have been fatally injured and disposed of by maintance workers. I am glad that the news picked up this story, as the airlines do not have to disclose animal deaths in transit....and that is a disgrace

What does the TSA do with your confiscated goods? {Gadling}
Nov 22nd 2007 10:53PM on my last flight, after i had passed through security(where i had to remove my flip-flops) i still thought that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That is, until the lady next to me whipped out 10" knitting needles. I am not sure about anyone else, but i fear knitting needles as a weapon more than i fear sealed(new) bottles of french wine(but that is another story)
