Muslim Girl Back on Basketball Court After Being Benched for Wearing Headscarf (ParentDish)
Jan 20th 2011 5:58PM Dorothy, and others. You can pray in school, you can read the bible (it might still be in the library under fiction), if students wish to gather and have a bible study on school property, they are in fact allowed to do that as long as it does not affect their schedule of classes. What is NOT allowed is the teaching of one religion over others, mandatory prayer, etc. Her Hijab is equal to those who wear crosses (which is also allowed in schools). If you child wishes to say grace in school before eating their lunch, nobody would stop them. you are confusing the actual Separation of Church and State laws with your own personal beliefs.
Cupcake-Selling Boys Shut Down by Cops Speak Out (ParentDish)
Nov 19th 2010 9:24PM OK: 1) He doesn't have authority to stop the kids, he actually went through the proper channels. 2) Vendor and food permits are required in every city and every state. These laws are in place to protect both the business and the public. since the americans are so damn sue happy...what's the difference between what these kids did, and the illegal taco truck...because they're kids they shouldn't have to follow the rules...like the hot dog vendors?
Is Joran van der Sloot a killer? (AOL Hot Searches)
Jun 9th 2010 1:20PM It seems to me that he wanted to be stopped, most serial killers do, in some right, wish they would be stopped. He admitted 2 years ago to knowing the location of Halloway, but his confession was deemed false in the Aruba Courts (daddy being a judge probably helped that).
Romance on 'The Biggest Loser' (VIDEO) (AOL TV)
May 5th 2010 11:55AM I'm not a sappy person, 99.9% of the angles and music they use to get you to feel does not work on my...but they got me last night...I love this show!
Lane Bryant vs. FOX and ABC: Publicity Stunt? (PopEater)
Apr 23rd 2010 1:51PM one note to make, the lady in the add is considered "Plus sized"..though most of the women in America who consider themselves "plus-sized" are morbidly obese! I love a woman with some curves, and most of the woman I date have great curvy bottoms and are in shape so the add does not offend me...but if you cannot see your belly button, you are no longer plus sized and it's time to drop the fried foods and snack cakes (it's 100 calories per package...not per box)
Lane Bryant Says ABC, Fox Censored Plus-Size Lingerie Commercial (Stylelist)
Apr 22nd 2010 8:24PM O.k. Gwen, Plus size women are NEVER "in the closet" don't try to make it seem like we didn't know you're fat or that you were hiding it from society. We have eyes! Next, FOX has always been holding double standards on what they will and will not show...I'm not really sure why, but what family guy gets away with now versus what the simpsons have had to endear to show something 1/10th as raunchy. Though ABC does seem to have legitimate claim here, some "live" programs can run long, they have to make time work, advertisers know this and that they might get cut. It appears to me like Lane Bryant is in fact just drumming up controversy for the sack of making a buck....ya gotta love it when one giant multi-billion $ company is bitching about anthers unfair practices...say lane bryant...were those clothes made in a country with child labor laws...didn't think so
'Iron Cross' Director's Lawsuit Over Negative Variety Review Highlights Changing Status of Movie Critics (Moviefone Blog)
Mar 18th 2010 6:00AM HOLY GOD!!! I can sue for all the negative reviews my band has gotten over the years???? Wow, screw going on tour every again, I'm gonna be rich just putting out band albums and suing over negative reviews!
Oh, though there is a reviewer who is like minded as me in my taste, I do read his reviews to see if I'm gonna shell out the loot to see a movie...most of the time.
Kim Kardashian Spells 'I Am a Kind Shark' and Other Awesome Celebrity Anagrams (PopEater)
Mar 16th 2010 11:44AM I don't even know who this Kim Kardashian is? what does she do? I agree with Evan, we should really stop making celebrities out of talentless hacks and talents people. Why do Americans love to build somebody up so high then tear them down with excitement and joy? We do it to everybody...we make heroes just to vilify them.
Parity Needs to Come to Women's Hockey, Lest It Be Gone From Games (Fanhouse Olympics Blog)
Feb 19th 2010 4:49PM Um, anyone who says that there just are not enough good players in womens sports, I make you this challenge. Lace up a pair of skates and go head to head against the worst female hockey player in the world competing at the Olympics, or basketball player, etc etc...I'm pretty sure you wouldn't last 5 minutes at that pace let alone the entire game. me personally, I love watching Hockey whether it be mens or womens...and trust me, I'd rather be watching womens hockey then the Bruins...ugh
What Happens When Customer Complaints Are Scams (Slashfood)
Feb 19th 2010 2:24PM One thing to keep in mind, a few years ago when gas prices went waaaay up...the food suppliers like SYSCO and U.S. FOODS raised their prices to compensate, in turn the independent truckers followed suit, which in turn left the restaurants wondering what to do since they couldn't really raise prices and expect to get away with. I've noticed several have gone down in quality of products, while others (like mine, decided to make all sauces, dressings, dips, etc "in house" for even better quality at a lower price. DIXIE: food costs are extremely high as are labor. Any decent owner will try to remain competitive with the wages and hours in order to keep a happy staff (and I'm not talking fast food here). At my business, we kept the portions and prices the same in hopes that people will come in and drink alcohol. Booze is where the mark up/profit is...bottom line though, if you cannot afford to eat out and you cannot afford to tip...then get your lazy ass to the store and cook it yourself
