The Great Burger Cook-Off: Eating Out vs. Cooking at Home -- Savings Experiment (WalletPop)

Mar 3rd 2011 12:49PM We've been making burgers 3 times each week for the past 2 years. We keep plenty of charcoal for the grill, year-round. There are two of us, but the buns are good for the next 3 burger day. I caramelize a couple of onions, sautee mushrooms, and cook maple bacon. We keep the cheese on hand, and we simply buy fresh ground beef on the days we decide to cook. We even make some small burgers just for our two dogs, and it's fun. These are by far better than anyone's fast food burgers, or ones from a fancy burger joint. We save lots of money. Who needs fries? We love chips, to keep it light. Adding it all up, we spend a lot less, and our appetites are satisfied more.

Syfy Cancels 'Stargate Universe' (AOL TV)

Dec 22nd 2010 6:29PM I still haven't forgiven SyFy for cancelling FARSCAPE, one of the greatest Science Fiction shows of all time. I got bored with the SG series, I tried, but couldn't get into them. Then along came SGU, I watched it from the beginning, and was hooked. I can't name specific scenes, but I can tell you I have cried more than once. I cared about these poor tragic explorers, some more than others, but I cared. I hope they give us some sort of closure. Maybe they can create one final movie to tie up loose ends like they did with FARSCAPE. I was disappointed when they got moved to Tuesday nights, I guess they thought they could capture the pre-wrestling fans. My husband will watch wrestling 24/7 if he can, so he was thrilled when they moved Smackdown to SyFy on Fridays. Me, I got my own TV. There have been some excellent shows on SyFy in the past, I just hope they can find some more to hook us. Isn't "Being Human" going to be in the January line-up?
Oh yeah, Ghost Hunters, GHI, and any related programs have my hubby's undivided attention. His whole day is planned around being in his seat, when it starts. We would be in big trouble if Wrestling moved to Wed. night.
Please give us some more Science Fiction programming.

Blue Bell Ice Cream vs. Breyers (Slashfood)

Aug 23rd 2010 11:29AM After last week's taste test, i decided to try Blue Bunny. I prefer less air in my icecream, and never liked Breyer's for that reason. creaminess is more important to me. Blue Bunny didn't let me down. It's a good value, and I loved it's thick creamy custard-like consistancy.

Confessions of a Bitter-Ender: In Praise of Movie End Credits (Moviefone Blog)

Aug 8th 2010 10:38AM I thought the credits from AVATAR were as good as the movie. Leona Lewis singing "I See You" brought me to tears, and was certainly deserving of an Oscar.

Long Hair on Little Boys: Right or Wrong? (Stylelist)

Apr 19th 2010 6:25PM Darlene, Having long hair and being gay are tow different things. It's people like you, who are really sick. Being gay is not caused by weating your hair long. I know lots of gay men, who had butch as kids, what about them? I'm married to a straight man, who happens to have very long hair. He washes it daily, and takes pride in his style. Are you one of those Southern Babtist church ladies/ Not to put down that religion, but your statement is bound to get you some pretty irrate replies.

Recipe Rehab: Deviled Eggs (That's Fit)

Apr 2nd 2010 10:49AM Her is yet another case of a phot, NOT matching what is made. You cannot make an avacado yellow. They don't show you a picture of the real recipe, because you would want to puke.
Kudos to all of you with the comments about not tossing the yolks. I love avacados, but sorry, they won't look appealing, when piped into a white, and even with a dash of lime, will be turning brown as your guests arrive.

Shannen Doherty's Time Is Up on 'Dancing With the Stars', But You Could Win Her Glam Rock Watch (Stylelist)

Mar 31st 2010 11:57AM My favorite time is 7PM, that's when DWTS starts! I can sit back, and enjoy watching them work up a sweat.

Planning a Family Roadtrip - Eat, Play, Plan (ParentDish)

Mar 28th 2010 1:50PM Easy there nasty. We all got car sick. Imagine one kid pukes, and the rest all follow? We eren't perfect kids. My two brothers fought like crazy. Are you driving with another adult? You can take turns playing tour guide. My Dad stayed at home, to work, to pay for our trip. You're all together. Have fun. Sing songs. My Mom was cool. AM radio was all that was available, and we got to listen to pop tunes of the day. You can play CD's of your choice. You parents got it so easy now. Kids act up, give them their Ridilin, and they're good for the trip. Just because I don't have kids doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. I cherish the long rides, and every minute i got to see the world around me. I think it would have been boring NOT to see anything more than the interior of the family car.
I would rather remember seeing a prairie dog town in Wyoming than watch a DVD of UP for the 10th time.

Planning a Family Roadtrip - Eat, Play, Plan (ParentDish)

Mar 28th 2010 11:52AM What ever happened to opening you kids eyes to the beautiful scenery OUTSIDE the car? My Mom used to take us 6 kids on two month camping trips, through the National Parks. She must have drivien 10K each trip. Our ages ranged 3-9 years-old. We played car games, looking out the sindows, and commented on what we all saw. If we read, it was REAL books, not having someone read them to us on tape. GET REAL! Kids can watch DVD's at home, and play vieos games anywhere. A vacation is a vacation from that crap. You may as well fly there on a jet, if you don't plan on looking out the car window, and seeling our country.

Thin Lizzy Live Album Tops Poll (Spinner)

Mar 8th 2010 3:11PM Barry Richman. Barry Richman. You're too old, and play too slow for wabbits like me. The Gibson's are nice, but i can't find any of your music that shreds.
