Friendster Founder Claims He Invented Social Networking (Switched)
Aug 9th 2009 2:00PM Nonsense. I developed the first user-generated forums (aka Social Networks) that contained message areas, file storage, and live chats at CompuServe in 1981. I also coined the term "forums" back then.
It wasn't my fault that computers and networks back then couldn't do graphics. Actually, we commercialized the GIF (graphics interchange format) for networks as well. DUH. ;-)
But who cares who invented them, it's the users who make them big.
