And wasn't NYC's bankruptcy forestalled by the Courts tho' Pres. Ford initially did not bail it out? What would have happened otherwise? The same question should be asked now.

(2) By striking bases we are going after fiefdoms of certain mullah-connected generals. By picking and choosing certain ones we would make them naked/jealous as to the generals of the ones we spare - sow dissension.

(3) Strikes by air and on bases avoid population centers.

(4) A few more similar comments in the same vein by some of our elected reps may make the mullahs squirm and wise up while they are in a face-saving situation; they don't have to say anything, just stop without broadcasting it PUBLICLY. They don't like anything that rocks their boat.

(5) Tie this together with yesterday's coincidental?joint Israel/US bombing practice in the Negev Desert and the mullahs may be changing whatever they wear under their robes?

(6) Don't be surprised if Bush?Cheney had some input on Lieberman's statement.

Tiger's Achille's Heel is Match Play - Rory (& Tiger) would be smart to accept the coming challenge (& it's coming)/TV offer in that format. Another mouth (Ali) didn't do too bad. He's won a few and seems to hang around the top in the beginning. On any day(s) a pro can get hot - pressure would be on Tiger. Either a big upset OR a big slapdown. Fans cannot lose either way.

May 7th 2007 8:48PM I'm a Yankee hater/admirer but I must say that Clemens is probably being more honest with everyone and himself. It appears that he can only go 1/2 a season, needs a while to get into shape and would not have been helped by the early season cold weather. With all his choices it's a big vote of confidence in the Yankees who are hardly in first place. He's saying up front here's how I think I can get into shape physically and mentally at my age and be of help - that alone should be an inspiration to the young players in particular. No one is being forced to take him. If he pans out, any negatives will be long forgotten. If he bombs, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy (George S.).

Mar 29th 2007 1:58PM People watch the show for the remarks of the panel, especially Simon, not to hear third rate singers. Until the panel discusses/votes the people take a bathroom break, unpack groceries, read mail, etc. A different type of contest with a similar panel will still succeed.
