Is AT&T capping iPhone upload speeds? Inquiring minds want to know (TUAW.com)

Jul 5th 2010 7:28PM I can confirm this and have Speednet logs showing the steep drop starting June 28, 2010. Even as of the 27th, I was getting 1.14Mbps / 200KB Up. Now, I'm lucky to get 0.10KB up.

I know AT&T wasn't going to allow that free hayride to go on indefinitely but they should A) admit it publicly and B) offer an option for reenabling (yeah, I know that means $$$)

Sanyo rolls out GH2, CG102, CG20 1080i camcorders in the US (Engadget)

Feb 4th 2010 4:06PM I like the Xacti concept but the video quality that they produce is just a little subpar each time.

I'm getting into DSLR HD video now and I'm really excited at the prospect of manually focusing the subject. I think the whole fuzzed out background and fuzzing-into-out-of-focus with the foreground object lends a really nice cinematic effect.

Poll: So... what's the Apple tablet going to be called? (Engadget)

Jan 26th 2010 8:34PM It's going to be called the "Pro Pad" (hint:recall: tag 'iProd' from previous iPhone firmwares)

Hello World!

Apple posts 3 new iPhone 3G ads: Everyone, Unslow, Work Friendly (TUAW.com)

Jul 24th 2008 12:52AM Drats! You beat me to it! I saw it on Fox 5 NYC during a commercial break for "So you think you can dance?"

(Don't ask, I didn't choose to watch that show)

Very cool ads. I'm currently testing iPhone for my enterprise and am very excited about alot of the ActiveSync push features.

Stanford to offer iPhone programming course (TUAW.com)

Jul 23rd 2008 6:41PM I assume the ad-hoc programme would be in effect here to facilitate the use of the SDK for the course?

As with recent cases with Apple, their legal disclosures don't run parallel to the company's bullet train innovation and product deployments. I would not be surprised if their legal team had no clue about this entire issue until after Tom Yager at Infoworld posted about it. Assuming that, and based off of the Safari for Windows incident, Apple will most likely revise their TOS for the SDK and make it as flexible as their ADC programme.

This happens alot in large companies - the right hand doesn't always know what the left hand is doing.

A Mac tablet? Not just yes, but 'heck yes' (TUAW.com)

Jul 23rd 2008 2:56PM You tell'em Erica! Although I can see why M$ has failed to deliver software that would even entice someone to get a MS tablet PC, there are many vendors (Lenovo, HP) that currently employ the tablet like model into their laptop line up and if you play with one, you'll see why its fun.

Mac might introduce not just a Mac tablet, but a whole different approach to it. We just have to wait and see.

Good writeup Erica :)

French Women Bathe With Cell Phones (Switched)

Jul 20th 2008 3:54AM Dammit, you both beat me to the French-not-bathing jokes. Drats...

Oh well, I've been dating a Frenchie for many years, so I can say they actually do shower pretty regularly ;)
