Iconic Woodstock Couple Keeps Festival Spirit Alive (Spinner)

Jul 11th 2009 6:18PM Debbieddl,

Amen! I was in Monticello, could HEAR the music; was 13, so - was unable to attend. I STILL hold that against my 'rents...lol

And, yes, I follow as much of the ideals - and have raised my daughter the same way.

Peace,

Neil Young Starts Linc Volt Electric Car Conversion Company (Switched)

Nov 30th 2008 8:58AM what does his being Canadian have to do with anything? That he even bothers with American cares - is a bonus for us! Did you know that there is a website for Canadian businesses that is titled, "Are you Canadian Enough?" We have our pluses, yes, but, also our minuses...

He is a caring human being... and that is the bottom line. We could certainly take a few pages from his book, as it were, and learn from him

Verizon Bans Libshitz Family From Using Last Name in E-Mail Address (Switched)

Aug 6th 2008 6:20AM Yeah, a local (almost! lol) You live down the block from the Hearing Aid specialist.... and around the corner from the college! The receptionist said that they have so much fun telling customers this address, just from the reactions they always get. :-D

Peace.

Sleeping in Airports (Gadling)

Aug 24th 2006 11:27PM Being legally Deaf has always had its complications in our society. However, the beginning of our trip to visit my daughter in Paris was an adventure. (From NJ) We had to take off shoes, belts, etc. No problem. However, I still set off alarms. Security has me spread my legs, I explain I have to read lips, DH tells her I don't hear. He tries to come closer, they nearly jump him - DON'T MOVE!...... okay.. he's yelling over that I need to see her lips to understand her, she's ignoring him, and, apparently was still talking to my bellybutton, I'm asking her what? I don't hear, I need to see you to understand you. Finally, I sign... the lightbulb goes on, and she talks soooo slooowly, over-enunciating,it is impossible to understand her. Turns out, it was the underwire in my bra? AND, she now wants me to unzip my pants so she can look in! And, completely out in public for everyone to watch this stripshow. To her credit, she was nicer after she understood that I don't hear, but, really.... it's my ears that don't work, not my brain...... and this was only the first security person.........
