Logitech Revue Brings Google to Your TV, but It's Complicated (Switched)
Dec 9th 2010 6:48PM @rich
At the moment no. The Google TV can't replace a computer unless all you plan to use it for is to watch YouTube. You'd be better off getting a nettop and tweaking the Windows accessibility settings and hooking that up to the TV.
As the platform matures it may eventually be able to serve as a basic web browsing machine and offer broader compatibility with peripherals (you can't use a special low vision keyboard with the Revue), but for now it's not really a viable alternative.
Supporting WikiLeaks, Anonymous Takes Down Major Sites in 'Operation: Payback' (Switched)

Not trying to imply that he's guilt until proven innocent, merely suggesting that maybe people should wait for the drama to play out in court before jumping up to defend the man. Especially when a group's definition of "defending" involves launching massive DDoS attacks against governments and lawyers.

By some accounts, mainly Assange's, that is the case. However there seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding what he is being charged with outside of the general "sexual assault." The truth probably won't come out until he returns to Sweden to answer the charges and confront his accusers.

Thanks for pointing out our glaring, unforgivable error and putting the accomplishments of a man and his two young children in the proper (read: unimpressive) context.

Israel Coughs Up Cash for @Israel Twitter Account (Switched)
Sep 16th 2010 7:38PM @Another Steve
I don't think the word "contentious" in any way suggests Israel doesn't have the right to exist. It simply implies that the state is prone to sparking debate, which it is and is a relevant point to make when discussing the messages received by Mr. Meléndez when the account was under his control.
I can't help but feel you're looking for bias where it doesn't exist. There is no error to correct or apology that needs to be issued.
Internet Explorer 9 Competes With Chrome in Speed, Design (Switched)
Sep 16th 2010 7:32PM @justjc "best" is kind of subjective. According to that particular benchmark Opera may be the fastest, but "best" is quite debatable. And there are plenty of other benchmarks that declare Chrome, Firefox and even IE9 the fastest at a particular task.

What better place to keep ill eagles than here in the U.S.? This way we can nurse them back to health and release them into the wild. They are our national bird after all.
