Twins Now On the Way for Couple Involved in Embryo Mix-Up (ParentDish)
Apr 7th 2011 5:13PM I'm saddened that this couple could not reach out to adopt.
I wouldn't comment except for the fact that they have made it their business to spill their story on TV.
Many Attribute Unhappy Childhood to Current Success (AOL Jobs)
Nov 18th 2010 8:43AM Frankly, this sounds like Pablum. Wait until someone in the workforce gets in the way of these "survivors" -- run for the exits.
Charlie Sheen Slams 'Overblown' Reports, Vows to Keep Truth 'Under Wraps' (PopEater)
Oct 27th 2010 5:30PM Poor Charlie? Naw. Poor us, having to hear about this stuff again and again. The media should really stop reporting on these Hollywood folks and their problems. There are so many interesting people in the world whose stories go untold.
The 1/5 Second Rule -- The New Science Behind Falling in Love (Lemondrop)
Oct 27th 2010 11:43AM Love that lights up the brain like a firecracker -- well, you know it when it hits you. That's it. It's extraordinarily awesome. Can you really separate out lust from love? Aren't they often intertwined?
I think there's a vast difference between being in love and persisting in a relationship because it provides refuge, security and companionship. Not that the latter is not valid and important, but it's not necessarily love.
Perhaps "comfort" is the word that best describes these relationships.
Humans equate longevity of relationship with depth of relationship when, in fact, a two-year romance may be more about love than the 50th anniversary is.
Shocker -- Survey Finds Mothers-in-Law Very Unpopular With Wives (Lemondrop)
Oct 19th 2010 3:59PM 39 years ago when my then-husband and I informed my MIL, now deceased, that we were expecting our first child (12 months after we wed), she looked at me and said "What did you do, forget to use birth control?"
I wonder if even she could imagine what a brutal and cutting welcome that was to an impending new life, a grandchild.
Over the years my husband and I were together -- we divorced after 15 years -- she held true to that first salvo, feeling entitled to belittle or demean, a pattern that pre-dated my meeting her. It must have been sad to live in that shell.
I vowed that when my child got married, if she did, I would be loving and warm and respectful toward her spouse, whoever he turned out to be. As long as she loved him, I knew it was my responsibility to treat him well in honor of her.
Well, it's never been difficult. He's the best man ever -- treats me with love and caring and protection and compassion. And I hope he feels I do the same. But then, I'm not cut out of the same cloth as my self-centered MIL was.
Life is short, folks, and there's nothing quite as grim as a family member intent on being nasty and dismissive to the very people who should be embraced and supported. Set your own jealousies and pettiness aside.
Why I Don't Hate My Mother-in-Law (Lemondrop)
Oct 19th 2010 3:45PM How gracious of the author to be sure to get this slap to the other women into print: "Thank God he chose you. We hated all his other girlfriends." Nice work.
Why oh why are women so quick to jump at the chance to diss other women, overtly or covertly. Couldn't this have been written without referencing this?
Ick.
I Found Out He Was Cheating On Me -- So I Called the Other Woman (Lemondrop)
Sep 18th 2010 8:49PM Speaking as a woman, I disagree that all men who cheat are "unstable." Some may be, but some may be unfulfilled by one woman, some may simply be enjoying the social style of the age -- which is to engage in as many relationships are you want without the benefit (or responsibiity) of marriage.
Many women cheat also, and likely for the same reasons.
You say she made the "forlorn" choice to stay: Have they made it work? Perhaps he needed an ultimatum to commit, rather than fool around with two. There are couples that recover their relationship after one or the other cheats.

Is Kagan Gay? It's All the Talk, and That's a Shame (Politics Daily)
May 14th 2010 11:26AM If private lives do not matter -- which is a ridiculous statement when you're talking about very public figures -- then how come all of America seems fascinated by that very area subject? Private lives?
But I do think it is Kagan and not a former schoolmate, who should be fielding questions about her sexuality -- if, in fact, that's relevant.
