How would you change the Samsung Instinct? {Engadget}

Jul 18th 2008 11:42PM I could see them doing that. It would probably be a death sentence for the Instinct.

Prius to go (partially) solar {Engadget}

Jul 6th 2008 10:17PM Also, I think you meant to say "conscientious" (governed by the dictates of one's conscience" and not "conscience" (conformity to one's own sense of right conduct).

Prius to go (partially) solar {Engadget}

Jul 6th 2008 10:10PM You're a moron. A 2007 used prius can be had for $25,000. I should know, I bought one in May.

I average 40-50 mpg driving like a normal person (70-85 on the highway, driving the speed limit on city and neighborhood streets).

Are you citing the study which "proved" that a Prius is more ecologically damaging than an H2? That study has since been refuted by a study that actually used something called facts.

So, get your facts straight.

The following link provides hard numbers and facts to set the record straight on the Prius vs Hummer lifetime energy cost calculation:

HTC's NEON400: a CDMA Touch Dual? {Engadget}

Jul 4th 2008 6:46PM Some variants of the Touch Dual have a keypad (where the 1-9 keys have the typical 3 letters per key, with predictive text entry).

Other models (I think the distinction is carrier-specific) have 2 letters per key on a wider arrangement of keys

Hopefully the latter version will show up on Sprint/Alltel/Verizon here in the united states

Black Rhodium HDMI cables hit "every price point" except ours {Engadget HD}

Jun 29th 2008 10:03PM All of these fancy over-priced cables and accessories remind me of the story of Emperor's New Clothes.

We're expected to believe that these cables are magically better just because the company says they are.

Consumers should demand that companies like Monster and Black Rhodium prove that their "premium" cables are actually worth the price by showing third-party test results.

My stance is that if you can't hear/see a difference, there isn't one.

Midify board adds MIDI port to Nintendo gaming handhelds {Engadget}

Jun 23rd 2008 9:34AM Did the author forget the word "to" in the headline?

Sprint's $130 Samsung Instinct twists free {Engadget}

Jun 20th 2008 12:53PM Unfortunately, it appears the $99 Unlimited Simply Everything Plan is the only option through the Sprint SERO site right now.

It would actually be cheaper to get the $70 for a 450-minute Simply Everything Plan with a regular contract.

Panasonic debuts "hybrid lighting" Pa-Look compact fluorescent bulbs {Engadget}

Jun 13th 2008 3:51AM From the article: "You'll apparently have to make do with 54 watts of brightness to take advantage of all that...."

I'd like to point out that watts are NOT a measure of brightness. Lumens are the measure of brightness most commonly used in reference to light bulbs. Watts refers to how much power is used.

Various factors such as the coating on the glass of the bulb can also affect it's luminosity, yet use the same amount of power as an otherwise identical bulb.

This is why CFLs are energy-saving to begin with, they use less power, yet put off the same amount of light!

C'mon Engadget, quit trying to confuse people.

More info if you folks desire: http://www.theledlight.com/lumens.html

So, are you gonna get an iPhone 3G? {Engadget}

Jun 10th 2008 12:32AM I bet Samsung was glad that this new iPhone is not radically different than the previous model.

With the release of Samsung's new handset soon, a remarkably improved iPhone would have meant doom for the Instinct,

I can't wait to compare the two, I think one of them will be my next device, but I'll have to get some hands-on experience with both first before deciding.

Motorola Q9 - awesome = Q9e, available now {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 6th 2008 6:02PM A friend of mine bought a Ming (the first one) on eBay from some guy in China. Seemed like an awesome little phone.
