Apr 29th 2010 12:28PM My ex husband ran off in the middle of the night, taking not only the checkbook and extra checks, but the ATM card, all the credit cards, the money for the bills, and the change jar. He had the idea that I'd wake up, realize how helpless and weak I was without him, and beg him to come home. I didn't. Four years later, I'm remarried to a wonderful man who would never cheat on me and who takes fantastic care of our children. As for my ex, he is now almost eleven thousand dollars behind on child support and spent three months in county because of it. The woman he took for helpless and weak has turned out to be anything but. Sometimes the worst thing in the world turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to you!

Mar 9th 2010 11:59AM I color my own hair with Nice N Easy, which is, as the name impliles, pretty easy. I would no sooner give myself highlights at home than I would cut my own hair! Oh, and I LOVE the hair color commercials they show on TV--suuuuuuuuuuure Eva Longoria colors her hair out of a box in the kitchen sink like the rest of us.

Sep 18th 2009 9:06PM My name is Phaedra, and while people can say the "ph" sound in words like phone, pharmacy, and Dr. Phil, when it comes to my name, they're clueless. As stated in the article, I can't prove it, but I think many times I don't get callbacks on my resume simply because nobody wants to have to call me and attempt to pronounce my name! I got past this by using my nickname, Faye, on my resume and potential employers have responded well. I have an interview on Tuesday (fingers and toes crossed)!

Sep 13th 2009 12:49PM I, too, was a goth in high school--back in the early nineties when that was still a REALLY strange thing to be--and I thank my lucky stars every day that there are few photos of me during that sad and pathetic time of my life. Yes, my husband knows; I've even listened to The Cure and Bauhaus in the minivan while on family excursions, but he's never seen a photo of me in my Robert Smith clone phase and here's hoping he never will. He'll die laughing.

Unfortunately, it's not always practical to sit in a rocking chair for hours trying to rock a fussy baby to sleep, and she certainly looks safer and snugglier than she would in an infant swing (not that there's anything wrong with those, either!). My only concern: Does using the CD-ROM door like that void the warranty?
