Joan Rivers on Tracy Morgan's Homophobic Rant: 'He Shouldn't Apologize' (PopEater)

Jun 18th 2011 7:44PM There is just way too much heterophobia out there. Chill you big babies!

Roy Orbison's Widow Recalls His Love of Music, Style and Film on His 75th Birthday (Spinner)

Apr 23rd 2011 7:34AM I have always loved Roy's music, since a kid in the 50's-60's, and still finding it deeply moving. As much as I listened to him, watched his music videos, and had friends that adored him, I still am learning more about him. For instance, that he wore dark glasses because of the "look," not because he was blind!! I always told people he was blind, and NOBODY ever contradicted me!

6 Weeks to a Better Body (That's Fit)

Mar 25th 2011 8:26AM My wife and I are in our 60's. We have seen amazing health gains and weight loss from something virtually FREE! H2O. That's right! Water. Try this: How much do you weigh? Divide in 1/2. Drink that amount of water in ounces daily. Do not drink during or immediately after meals. Drink 1-2 glasses 15 minutes before a meal. When you "think" you are hungry, first drink a glass of water. Our bodies are dehydrated. Most Americans suffer from chronic dehydration. Water counts. No other beverage is a substitute for water.
Google "Your Body's Many Cries For Water."

Councilman Wants to Shame Drunk Drivers by Posting DUI Mug Shots on Facebook (Switched)

Jan 18th 2011 8:55PM DUI laws, like most laws, are inherently ineffective, and are not, on their face, just laws.

Justice is to penalize people for either personal injury/loss, or property damage/loss. So-called "preventive" laws are 100% theoretical, cannot be proven to be effective, and at best, are extremely circumstantial.

Justice is about just/fair compensation for a loss. Not fines that go to the arbitrary, impersonal state...but compensation that goes directly to the victims of a crime. Convicted persons should pay back what they have stolen, whether life, limb, or property. Prison does the opposite. Working it off, over a lifetime, if necessary, will impress itself upon society (detterent) far more than the current ridiculous system.

Charges Dropped Against Bucs' Mike Williams (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Jan 16th 2011 10:29AM Most cops today are young, ex-military, anal, mindless drones with only two objectives: "look after my brotherhood (their own fellow cops), and keep my job." "Protect and serve" isn't even on the list. Psychological tests consistently reveal that 90% of law enforcement have a John Wayne complex. They inherently profile, and have orders to give tickets (lots of them), and throw "suspects" in jail and let the courts sort it out.

What should have happened, in a sane and just world? No one was hurt. No one had their property damaged. So cop should have asked for his keys, and called his friend or spouse or family member to come get him. End of story.

Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks Deliver Once-in-a-Lifetime Performance (Fanhouse - Lisa Olson)

Jan 9th 2011 12:34PM Lisa Olson wrote a sports column gem. Reminds me of the Hall of Fame writer for the LA Times, Jim Murray. Awesome job Lisa!

Andrew Gallo, Killer of Nick Adenhart, Two Others, Sentenced to 51 Years (Fanhouse MLB Blog)

Dec 22nd 2010 10:26PM What is justice? The victims should be recompensed. He should have to work the rest of his life and pay restitution, not be jailed at public expense, and the victims left literally with nothing. He should have no license, ever, and even have to wear an ankle bracelet to monitor his whereabouts. But sitting in jail, learning from hardened violent criminals, and having a roof, food, clothing provided for him...it does not make sense, and is not justice for anyone.

Our once great social experiment, based on a genius Constitution, of justice, has deteriorated into a system of punishment. The USA has the world's greatest rate of incarceration, and the largest total number of prison inmates. What is wrong with this picture?

C.J. Wilson Aside, Rangers Awesomely Awful in Game 2 Disaster (Fanhouse MLB Blog)

Oct 29th 2010 6:22AM Why do managers (I use the term loosley) change out a pitcher? In most cases that i have observed, the replacement blows the save, loses the game, or walks four guys in a row.

We will NEVER know if the original pitcher would have fared better or worse.

Often, the predicament, for which the original pitcher is relieved, is caused by defensive mistakes (is it the Texas pitcher's fault his third baseman is Young? He is the Designated key error-maker) [Why was Lincecum pulled during a strong outing in the NLCS, when his replacements were not even warmed up?]

Oct 18th 2010 10:54PM Coaches should teach players to tackle, not hit. Tackling in both college and pros is pathetic.
