"Vanity Sizing" Soaring in America (That's Fit)
Sep 16th 2010 10:17PM I'm right with you. My weight hasn't changed in 30 years, but it's hard to get clothes to fit any more - I used to drown in women's 8's; now I drown in 4's. And 2's are heading the same direction.
I've resorted to the boys department for summer shorts. Boys size 12 works but, with hips, a boys size 10 Husky is perfect. So, yeah, the 50+ year old in the baggy shorts running down the street is probably me.
In Defense of Angelina Jolie (Moviefone Blog)
Jul 24th 2010 1:07AM Oh, so only the white kids are pretty? 'Fraid your racist roots are showing, honey.
Also, no one has 6 kids for publicity. It's way too big a commitment and too much work.
In Defense of Angelina Jolie (Moviefone Blog)
Jul 24th 2010 12:52AM Give it up aol. I, and many people I know find it easy to LIKE Angelina. I admire her independence and her charity work.
As for Jennifer Aniston - what has she ever done that's worthwhile?
Bison Bash (MyDaily)
Jul 22nd 2010 10:00PM Cain't you city folks read? There are signs all over that say "Buffalo are dangerous. View from a distance."
OOPS! Guess that's the problem. The animal in question was a bison, not a buffalo. National Park Service should be more careful.

The Myth of Testing for Giftedness (ParentDish)
May 21st 2010 10:31PM I agree with Anni. It doesn't take much to be "gifted" these days. And children who grow up being told they're special often end up with an unrealistic view of their abilities, their work, and themselves. I know. I've had some of them working for me. Should I really have to correct grammatical and logical errors in a document written by a person with a master's degree? Or figure out and teach a statistical analysis program that I didn't initially know to young people who assured me they knew how to use it?
I can also tell you that if your child is truly gifted, he or she is likely to experience many challenges in life just finding friends and fitting in. It would be far better for your child to be just enough above average to give him or her an edge.
Would You Go to Work Barefaced? Get Ready for Makeup-Free Monday (Stylelist)
May 17th 2010 10:56PM Oh good grief! Going to work without makeup is brave? Get a life. Or at least some self-confidence.
If You Don't Have Kids, Can You Give Parents Advice? (ParentDish)
Feb 27th 2010 4:31PM If I can't comment on how you (as a single person) raise your child, don't expect me to date you or marry you.
For about five years, I dated a guy with a daughter (ages 3-8). She had no set bed time (ever), was never reprimanded in any way (guy and his former wife had decided that nooone should ever do or say anything that would hurt her self-esteem), did not sit at the table to eat, couldn't walk around the block without whining that her feet hurt, was afraid to try to ride a bike, even the kind that attaches to the back of her dad's, was included in Valentine's Day dates, threw screaming tantrums in public, etc. Essentially, she ruined everything the three of us ever tried to do together - either she wouldn't do it or whined so much that we gave up. After 5 years, I gave up, returned the ring, and broke up. My only regret is that it took me so long.
Hot Seat: Gen-X (Politics Daily)
Nov 7th 2008 10:38PM Unless Gen Xers change their fundamental attitude toward others and about themselves, they will never be ready to lead.
Beauty and the Obese (Blackvoices Main)
Apr 1st 2007 9:53PM LaKisha is incredible. No one else of her caliber has even appeared on idol. Whether she wins idol or not, she should have a recording contract. Talent like this doesn't come along every day or even every decade.
It isn't about body; it's about soul.
