What is the legal responsibility to protect the customers from a potentially lethal situation such as the Luby's massacre, an incident of mass murder that took place on October 16, 1991 in Killeen, Texas, when George Jo Hennard drove his pickup truck into a Luby's Cafeteria and shot 23 people to death while wounding another 20. Should all businesses be required to have screening machines at their doors to detect persons carrying weapons? What happens in those states with customers with CCW permits?

According to the DSM-IV Diagnoses and Codes for psychiatric disorders, the following could possibly be included in the ADA:
291 Alcohol Intoxication Delirium
292.12 Amphetamine-Induced Psychotic Disorder, With
Hallucinations
299.8 Asperger's Disorder

Does that mean Starbucks is obligated to serve every stoner who wants to fire up a doob, jump his GF's bones at their table and steal a muffin?

How was the barrista (Lord, what a PRETENTIOUS title!) to know that the stoner didn't have a gun in his pocket instead of a chubby!?!?!

If other customers were then injured by the stoner, THEY could sue, meaning Starbucks is in a NO-WIN situation. I'll opt to protect the majority.

Nov 9th 2008 8:20AM The McCain/Palin ticket lost for several reasons, NONE of which had to do with the economy or GWB's IQ or Gov. Palin's wardrobe. It had to do with a voter mass who was willing to say, "Don't confuse me with facts...my mind's made up." It had to do with voting for a person SOLELY for his skin melanin content while ignoring his lack of qualifications for PRESIDENT, yet complaining about the lack of qualifications of the opposing Vice President! It had to do with ignoring the fact that earlier in the year, his then-opponent, Sen. Biden, felt he was unqualified, but, now that Biden's the running-mate, all of a sudden, lack of qualifications doesn't matter. It had to do with being caught up in the innuendos, half-truths and outright lies of the MASSIVELY-BIASED MEDIA and their one-sided reportage. A media which felt it needed to ridicule McCain's USNA records but totally ignore the ABSOLUTE REFUSAL of Obama to supply school transcripts! It had to do with liberals' willingness to throw out babies surviving abortions all the while protecting animals that WEREN'T endangered so we could continue to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on Arab oil. TRASH the BABIES...SAVE THE WHALES! It had to do with ignoring the lack of qualifications of Obama but taking a chain-saw to Palin's credentials. It had to do with the liberals' willingness to ignore Obama's self-admitted 6 year stint of drug use-NOT EXPERIMENTING! It had to do with liberals saying it was OK for Obama to associate with unrepentant anarchists such as Ayers & Dohrn, to benefit from shady real estate deals with convicted crooks such as Tony Rezko, associations with anti-white/anti-American/anti-Semitic Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger & Louis Farrakhan. Would it qualify anyone as an idiot or, at the very least, a fool, for spending TWENTY YEARS listening to "lectures/sermons" but NEVER "inhaling/learning" from them? It had to do with the left's ignoring where the campaign donations ACTUALLY came from after reneging on a GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT to limit funding to public funds and ending up with almost THREE-QUARTERS OF A BILLION in the coffers! It had to do with liberals being caught up in a near-religious RAPTURE over a candidate who, if white, would never have survived the filtering process of the primaries. It had to do with a false sense of entitlement-the ANTITHESIS of JFK's inaugural challenge to "ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU;ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY." It had to do with ignoring the voodoo economics that promises 95% of the public will get tax breaks when almost FIFTY PERCENT DO NOT NOW PAY ANY TAXES! It had to do with a voter mentality who ignores history which shows Black tribes selling their brothers & sisters into slavery while demanding reparations from whites. A history which ignores rampant black-on-black crime. A history which ignores that the Democrats have thrown TRILLIONS of dollars into ineffective social & educational programs yet still expect that TRILLIONS MORE will solve the problems of drug abuse, sky-rocketing drop-out rates & lack of education and increasing numbers of unwed teens - babies having babies. It had to do with our BIPARTISAN willingness to ignore political whores of BOTH parties who sold out to corporate special interests competing against the less-well-funded public. It had to do with ignoring the complexity of today's international political world where we DO have enemies simply because we offer total freedom of religion. Talk is better, all the while millions perish while the talks creep along at the rate of glaciar advance, in the Balkans (Dem. Clinton administration)/Darfur/Iraq-Kuwait/Iraq-Iran/ Somalia/Indonesia,post-Viet Nam war/Cambodia-Pol Pot regime, ad nauseum. It had to do with NOT blaming Clinton for giving a free-ride to Bin Laden but holding GWB accountable for not bringing him to justice. It had to do with giving a free ride to OXYGEN-THIEF Carter, ignoring stag-flation, sky-high interest rates, an energy crisis and a total failure to predict or properly react to the take-over of our embassy in Iran. It had to do with ignoring the fact that Saddam Hussein ADMITTED having WMDs and refusing to show proof, time after time AFTER TIME, that he destroyed them, throwing out UN inspectors every time they wanted increased access. Continue to ignore the Dems who, back in the Clinton years, also stated Saddam Hussein HAD WMDs! The net result is that we now have the FIRST AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PRESIDENT. I wish him well. I don't envy him in his new position, considering HIS lack of qualifications and being the product of Democrat Chicago "machine" politics.

Please note the PLURAL form of "candidateS", "THEY"
and "MONKEYS!" If the line had said "One need only look at ONE CANDIDATE...to know that HE came from monkeys," you would have a valid point. The essential point being ALL POLITICIANS are evolved from monkeys as demonstrated by their behavior. I personally believe we ARE evolved from great apes, if they will accept us. Sometimes I think they are better off NOT being associated with us. However, as long as you and others see hidden racism where there is none, SADLY, we, as a people, will always be divided.

If Subway had put an orthodox rabbi in the ad, talking in an Eastern European accent, would THAT be Anti-Semitic? I doubt it. May not be hilarious, but it's artistic license and advertising. It's no more racist than the TV channel BET, National Association for the Advancement of COLORED PEOPLE, American NEGRO College Fund focusing on demographics. Get over it and get over yourselves. There was no racism here...just a bad attempt to focus advertising on a segment of the market.

I was TAUGHT and LEARNED for 23 years of primary-high school-college-dental school and surgery residency and never had the ability to access other info when being tested. A test should be a measure of how well you have learned-not how well you can access someone else's knowledge base-it's CHEATING and B.S.!!
