Jul 10th 2010 10:34AM Looks like a semi professional with his 2 camera Canon stuff. He has decent on camera flash and it was going off in continuous mode with maybe an external battery on his left hip. Although, he is using the stock diffuser dome and it's pointed up into what looks to be a pretty high ceiling... hard to call. I do think his lack of a suit and stoopid looking shirt is out of place so he's probably on the cheap. This could have happened to anyone but less likely to a pro-wed guy. Although, a professional photog that doesn't do weddings probably would have hit the sitz bath also. So...waaaaa, you're all making fun of one of my bros..a professional photog ...waaaa! Still it's freaking hillarious and almost as funny as the amature photog I saw back into the wedding cake. Should have used Nikon. The pro models offer those cool reverse collision avoidance beepers. Waaaaa!

Jul 8th 2010 6:39PM Ha lets see how long they man up to stick to this concept. Food photography is a pretty strict science. This commercial hints at some over the top techniques for modeling the product (hence the drill and other questionable hardware) In most food photography, still or cine, good prep with the correct ingredients pushed towards the camera goes a good long way. But smooth smart lighting, sweet contrast and in your face optics makes the mouth water. I watched the commercial a few times and although the productd prep was minimal, I did detect some decent back lighting and fill that didn't come from some PA just flipping on some overhead flouresent units and shooting with a camera phone. When sales start to go backwards and Papa Johns really bites into the Dominos market, prepare for the sizzle and sparkle to quickly return. The Home Eck food prepers will be back on set with a vengence!!
