'The Early Show' Exec Producer: Why Smith, Rodriguez and Price Had to Go (AOL TV)

Dec 1st 2010 2:23PM For years I have watched CBS in the morning before work & then in the evenings. I absolutely hated the NBC morning show, especially with the self promoting, unfunny Kathy. There was hardly a day when I watched another channel except CBS. I loved Miami Medical, Medium as well as several other excellent shows that are now gone. With this final cancellation of H. Smith et al, there is now no reason to watch CBS at all.
Perhaps Freidman might want to ask why ratings dropped under his tenure rather than blame the shows for this drops- except that is not how it works in real life in ego ridden lala land.

I Spent $3,000 to Save My Dog - and I'd Do It Again (Pawnation OLD)

Jun 22nd 2010 10:16PM When my 4 lb yorkie was attacked and nearly killed by another dog it cost over a week in a top animal hospital & over $5000.00 to stabilize, treat her and get her to a point where she could come home, When my 12 lb Lhasa developed leomyosarcoma that surgery and Tx and hospital care was also about 4800.00. Over the years different surgeries and inhospital care for my various different cats, birds & dogs has probably run in excess of $30 K,not counting neutering, vaccines and other minor illnesses. Obviously I don't regret it as they are part of my family. I have been very fortunate in that I could afford to pay it out over time. I shudder to think however if I could not and had to make the choice. I am now thinking about purchasing pet insurance.

Nov 2nd 2009 9:47PM The best way to fix it and hopefully regain viewers would be to cancel it completely.

Comcast Blocking Certain Types of Internet Traffic (Switched)

Oct 22nd 2007 5:49PM Comcast also has significant problems in general trsnsmission of signals for cable TV and internet. I live in a semi-urbam area. My property has a lot of trees so rather than being able to bring in satellite I was forced to get Comcast ( the only local area provider) as I wished for a broader choice than that provided by rabbit ears. Suffice it to say that not a single Tv program is clear all the way through. I get pixilation or blue screen blank outs several times during every program I have ever watched. I also must reset my computer modem box several times a day or week ( depending on its mood) as well. THeir service men have been here repeatedly and after 6 years I have just given up. They charge and charge and charge meanwhile dropping more channels every year. If I had other alternatives I would drop them in a second. What is surprising is that no one ( regulators) seem to care.

Katie Couric Dissed by Miss USA (Blackvoices Main)

Sep 26th 2007 9:17AM Unfortunately, intelligence does not equal common sense, something that is lacking in too many people as it is. Perhaps as this young lady ages she may eventually learn that it is better to say absolutely nothing if you can't say something nice about someone especially when you really don't even know that person.

Imagine a world without Twinkies (BloggingStocks)

Sep 21st 2007 8:05PM As a child, the eldest of eight, any loose change was always scarce. Fortunately or unfortunately I was also an avid reader and I loved comic books- any and all comic books. These could be had for 10 cents each in those days.
Therefore, whenever I managed to get any money I was always faced with an immediate dilemma- What should I buy - twinkies or even twin pack of hostess chocolate cupcakes? Too often I would spend hours and on occasion even up to a couple of days agonizing over this weighty decision. With rare exception I always chose the comic books because I felt that when I grew up and actually had "money to burn" I could always buy twinkies or cupcakes because they would ALWAYS be made but the specific comics had a limited shelf time and monthly new ones would replace which ever was on the shelf at that time. WHen I grew up and actually did get a job I found out several things: I never ever really did have money to bur; Although I could now afford both twinkies and hostess cupcakes - at the same time if I so chose- both were too sweet for my adult tastes; I still liked to read so continued to read, went to school ad obtained an advance education and was able to work and save an awful lot of money over the years. If twinkies were not around when I was growing up I question whether the lessons I learned then could/would have occurred. How sad for the current and upcoming generations to miss out on such important life defining choices. I can only hope that they continue to be made for many many more generations so all can continue to benefit.

Circuit City Shopper Cuffed for Refusing to Show Receipt (Switched)

Sep 5th 2007 3:48PM I can not think of the last time I was in any brick & mortar store outside of the grocery store. I now buy online and avoid stores simply because I am tired of the total lack of concern & courtesy shown to the customer. This ranges from rude clerks that stand around chatting with each other rather than helping customers, or the total lack of available clerks with any knowledge of store products; long, long lines with the accompanying long, loooong waits to check out; prices that are suddenly different at the register- never lower or items not even marked; baggage checks; poor/filthy toilet facililities; etc are but some of the reasons I will no longer go to these stores. This is also why I hate calling any place of business and facing the phone trees that are standard practice now a days. My time and good humor are too precious to be wasted in this fashion. There is nothing any shop has to offer that I can't purchase on line and generally at a substantially better price- even when shipping costs are involved.
