Sweaters for Dogs - Are They Ever Necessary? (Pawnation)
Dec 28th 2011 10:01AM I have a Dachshund which has a very deep chest area. I now have two coats for hiim, but one is very tight around the chest area and the other fits the chest area but is too big every where else. Does any one know where I can get coats for these short legs and barrel chested dog. He is so uncomfortable here in Michigan in the winter that often I have to pick him up carry him back to the house. This is getting more difficult as I get older because he weighs in at 20 #. Forget putting on boots,, can't find any to fit the stubby legs, but I do love this little guy, a great snuggler.
Lady Gaga's Renaissance-Inspired Footwear (Stylelist)
Jul 16th 2011 8:40AM Most of those shoes are not even good looking. Just another gimmick for a weirdo. She has a good voice but like so many others they rely on gimmicks instead of their voices and words they sing. I wouldn't cross the street to watch them. Those very tall black thinks are not even shoes, they are mini stilts. I saw her on The View wearing them and she can't even walk with out two men holding on to her. And I wouldn't even call it walking. Sorry it is dumb, dumb dumb!
Mom's Spanking Fuels Toddler's Aggression (ParentDish)
Jul 11th 2011 5:17PM OMG....here we go again or is it YET! It does not hurt a child if you give it a swat on the behind, as long as you are not beating this child. I have two children, the oldest was always getting a swat and they are the sweetest person alive, loves their children, does not beat them and actually loves and is very nice to all children and people. Works in a service position to help others. The second child hardly ever got a swat. Just the difference in their make-up. This child is also a very nice, helpful and loving person. This one also has children and has never swatted the children even though there were times I thought the need a swat......lol. The children in both families are great kids, teenagers now, and very sweet and loving just as their parents. I had a police officer tell me once that "all children need a swat on the back side once in awhile!" He told me that he swatted his children and now as a police officer he can tell the kids he has contact with in his job who have not been spanked. These are the kids who are sarcastic, and just dare you to do something or say something to them! The officer said it is a sad day now because there are so many children who just do as they please and don't fear any consequences! Hang on to your hat and keep your doors and windows locked because these same kids think that we owe them everything!
Iowa School Principal Delivers Birthday Spankings to Students (ParentDish)
May 28th 2011 11:24AM The parents are over reacting and LOOKING for money! Sue the school district and get the teacher fired! When I was in grade school we all took turns spanking the person whose birthday it was. The person who had the next birthday got to do the spanking and believe me some of us got a real spanking and we didn't get a treat, the person having the birthday brought in a treat for every one else. This is a teacher giving the student a "love tap" a pencil and a caculator! Back off you dumb parents, it is the parents who are ruining the schools for the students! I'm sure that if a student didn't want the spanking with the padded hockey stick they did not have to have it. Wake up America, start allowing the teachers to teach and you go back to parenting, something that a lot of parents are not now doing!
Teacher Suspended for Allegedly Making Kids Scrub Toilet (ParentDish)
May 27th 2011 5:44PM I wish someone would have gotten my first grade teacher in trouble for something similiar! I went to a one room country school with a boys and a girls bathroom and cloak room at the back of the room. Someone had peed on the bathroom floor and the teacher, Mrs. Bacon (I will never forget her name or face, sixty years later) assumed that it was me. She called me in from recess and stood over me and made me clean up the mess, with paper towels! I remember telling my parents, but as far as I know, they never did anything about it. I was not very outgoing after that! I don't know why she didn't like me, except that in the first grade, I was able to read my brothers third grade reader and also do his math problems! I think she was tryiing to hold me back, lucky for all of us 60 students, she only taught there for one year!
Michigan May Allow Under-10 Crowd to Go Hunting (ParentDish)
May 27th 2011 5:37PM I say Good for Michigan! I have been hunting since I was about 5 or 6, with my father. Of course it wasn't deer hunting but in the woods squirrel hunting. A great bonding experience for a daughter and her father! By the time I was 10 or 11 and big enough to carry a 20 guage shot gun I was pheasant hunting also. Unfortunately I had to wait until I was 18 to go deer hunting because that was done up north on public and private land. But you know what, I never shot anything other than what I was aiming at and no I never shot another person! Because my father gave me great instruction and many rules and regulations before we ever stepped outside the house with a gun! I used this same approach with my kids and also my grandchildren. My son has taken his kids bow hunting from the time they were small. He would put up two tree stands close to each other, he would put the child in one and he took the other. The three kids loved it and it was a time for him to be one on one with each child. They often saw deer and it didn't matter if they shot at one or not. One of my best friends took his 10 yr old daughter deer hunting this past year and she was using a cross-bow. She got her deer, a perfect shot to the heart and was thrilled. Her father has also been taking her since she was about 5 just to sit in the woods with him. The same with my son, he used to take all three kids into the woods to a deer blind. The kids were often talking, eating snacks but as my son said, he didn't care if he even saw a deer, (but they saw many) it was just a ball to be with the kids and watch their expressions when the would see different animals in the woods! Two of the kids have gotten nice bucks, the one getting an 9 point the first deer and the other a 8 point for the first one. They were so proud. And the one rule in our family is, if you shoot it or catch it, you clean it! And they still go hunting and fishing!
Mom Defends Decision to Give 8-Year-Old Daughter, Britney Campbell, Botox (Video) (Stylelist)
May 12th 2011 11:04PM this person should NOT be a mother! What is wrong with her head? She should be arrested and put in jail and the girl taken away from her. This child does not know what is being injected into her face and as far as I am concerned it is poison! If the woman wants to inject it into her face that is her choice, but the little girl does not know the affects and what could happen in the future! Where did this woman get the botox in the first place? What company would sell this stuff to someone who is NOT qualified to inject this stuff? The company should be fined also, big time.
Police Use Pepper Spray to Subdue 8-Year-Old at School (ParentDish)
Apr 6th 2011 3:46PM That mother needs some testing and some instruction on how to raise that boy. This is the third time the police have be called? Right about after the second time that boy would have had a darn good spanking. It is just too bad that some "goody two shoes" have decided that spaning is coporal punishment. I had a State Police captain tell me once that when he is dealing with kids of any age he can tell the ones that parents have corrected and the ones who say, "now Johnny, don't do that!" He told me that each and every one of his children have had a spanking at one time or more in their lives. I don't believe in beating your child but when they need a swat, they need a swat! Kids have NO respect for parents, teachers or authority of any kind. They dare you to do something to them. Wake up America.
Rachael Ray Apologizes for Negative 'Dancing With the Stars' Comments (PopEater)
Jan 29th 2011 10:25PM Don't appologize Rachael! I agree those "costumes" are rediculous! I agree with a previous writer, I have seen better costumes on hookers on the street corners! I would not even admit that I made or designed those pieces of rags! You can't call them clothes, because they are far from it!
GoodGuide's Dog Food Ratings: Which Products Are Best and Worst? (WalletPop)
Jan 27th 2011 3:14PM I went through the list and Science Diet is the only one from the good list that is available in my area for about six times as much as the ones available! I sure wish I could afford that while living on a limited income! And no I am not going to send the dog packing just because of my limited income. I had him before I was forced to retire and will keep him!
