How to Break Your Cell Phone Contract (Switched)

Jun 30th 2007 3:58PM For the one that didn't know how to click on the link to read the list of six ways, here it is:

1. Sell your cellphone contract.

2. Complain that service isn't up to par, file complaints with PUC, FTC, BBB, AG and cc them to the company.

3. Wait for the company to change its rates (like text-messaging), then call to cancel based on the material change of contract. These are usually for the default rates and you won't be able to cancel if you have a package that takes care of it... hint: so get rid of the package and call back.... Here's some recent rate changes and cancellation success stories:
Sprint
AT&T/Cingular
Verizon
T-Mobile
US Cellular

4. Move to an area outside the plan's coverage area.

5. Join the armed forces - you'll need to fax in a copy of your orders.

6. Die - someone will need to fax in your death certificate on your behalf. You'll be dead, but at least you're in heaven. iPhone heaven.

American Idol: The Top 12 Girls (AOL TV)

Feb 22nd 2007 12:14PM I have faithfully watched every Idol show from day one. Each year during auditions, I've been able to pick out at least the final two. This year, I liked a lot of people, but not one person totally stood out to me. I had some favorites, but not a winner...that is until last night! WOW! Lakisha blew me out of the ball park! Great job! There are at least 5 of the women that are wonderful, and maybe 4 of the guys.
With that all being said, unless someone puts a muzzle on Ryan's obnoxious mouth, they are going to start losing viewers. He was a bit better last night than he was the first night the boys sang, that was horrible, I wanted to slap the jerk! At the end when he mentioned the judges, "Randy and Paula" and intentionally left off Simon, that was the last straw, Ryan is so disrespectful, he needs to clean up his act or get off the show and go back to his little radio show! But, I don't want Ryan's Napolian issues to overshadow the singers, this show is not about Ryan!

Rosie set to leave The View for her own show (AOL TV)

Jan 20th 2007 12:29PM It is not entertainment to me to listen to someone that is so bitter and walks around with a chip on her shoulder. Ms. O'Donnell runs off with her daily diatribe cutting down people and making it miserable to watch that show. Can she not find anything positive to talk about in this world? Anything at all? Please, stop all your crap, you have ruined a show that many once watched because it focused on women's issues and attitudes towards this ever changing world. I taught my children to not go around making fun of others, in any way, that is a basic moral that is taught at a very young age. We try to behave with a higher class, meaning, to conduct yourself in a manner in which you would want someone to conduct themselves in with you.

Rosie has done nothing to bring any class to that show, she has just drug it through the mud, if it isn't Trump, its Idol, or someone else. I have lost all respect for the show and everyone that continues to be on it, they too have sold their souls to the devil instead of standing up for their own morals. What a sad statement. Rosie O'Donnell does not speak for the American women, at least not this woman!!!

I think if you do not like the View, or American Idol, or The Apprentice, you can show that by boycotting the sponsors and advertisers on that show, the TV stations will listen to what is most important to them, their pocketbook! Call every company that advertises during the show, tell them you will no longer use their products. Make a list, send it to the TV station. If enough people do things like that, eventually it will make a difference and changes will be made.

I'm not a prude, I do not mind banter back and forth, but to be so bitter, so ugly, so cutting, someone needs to put a muzzle on her mouth!

Ashton's Christmas Gift to Demi (Luxist)

Dec 15th 2006 3:23PM What exactly do you propose Ashton get for Demi? Should he go out and maybe buy a sweater at Walmart? My goodness people, they have money, they buy gifts for each other, its all relative. If you only have a small amount to spend on your spouse, would you like it if everyone was saying you shouldn't have wasted that money on a gift, instead you should have put it in the bell ringer's pot outside the grocery store!

It looks like a beautiful book. I'm happy to hear that Ashton and Demi are so thoughtful towards each other and that they are celebrating the season.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year to them and all!

Cowboys' New Stadium Carries $1 Billion Cost (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Dec 15th 2006 11:17AM Thank you Hank Hill! New Orleans should remember when they didn't have the common sense to get out of town when a major hurrican was headed their way, then ended up in their stadium and trashed it so badly that it had to be closed down, and they had no othre place left to go, they came to our stadiums in Texas where we took them in, fed and clothed them, gave them shelter. And now they talk trash about Texas?

If they wanted a ride out of town they could have used the hundreds of school buses that sat in a lot and got flooded. Was that the federal government's decision? No, it was their mayor's decision...and then they voted him back into office! Hmmm, now that really makes sense doesn't it?

Maybe the Cowboys had to build a new stadium so that there will be two shelters for the people of New Orleans the next time there is a hurricane to hit their town. I pray to God that they NEVER have to go through a tragedy of that sort ever again. But, don't sit back and talk trash about the Great State of Texas, who was your friend and family when you had none.

When the people of New Orleans filled up our cities and towns, our crime rates tripled, they had no respect for the accomodations that were given to them, trashing hotels, leaving used condoms and needles in parking lots. It was a huge mess. They have NO right to trash talk us, our decisions to build a new stadium, or the people of our State.

God bless New Orleans for not having the common sense to get out of the way of such a huge disaster, and God bless those that didn't have the common sense to vote in a new mayor who hopefully wasn't corrupt and truly would have had the best interest of the people of New Orleans....AND....God bless Texas and the Dallas Cowboys!!!! Go BOYS !!!

Cowboys' New Stadium Carries $1 Billion Cost (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Dec 15th 2006 10:13AM Rusta, you are just a very crude person, full of anger and jealousy. All we can do is pity people like you.

As for the reason why they built a new stadium, the old one was in dire need of repairs. The Cowboys bring in a lot of revenues to the Arlington area, it is good business to build a new stadium.

As for the Saints, good for them, they beat us, this time. Watch out next time. As Jimmy Johnson used to say, you have to play better than the other team, their coaches, and the officials. If the Saints used ill gotten means to cheat to win the game, then its their Karma. The next time we meet, if the Saints make it that far, watch out, we will be prepared.

The people of New Orleans are still on my paycheck......almost 1 1/2 years after the hurricane hit there. I think its time they get off their butts, stop whining about what time the Government showed up or didn't show up, and start rebuilding their homes and city. Why is it that we are responsible for still paying their rent in apartments, buying their groceries, paying their bills? I would rather take that money and put it into the new stadium for the Cowboys! And, if you have anything to say about that, think about this....why is it that New Orleans put a priority of building a new stadium for their Saints over building homes for their residence's? I think its because a majority of people in New Orleans is used to being taken care of by the government, are waiting for us to build them a new home to move into so they can sit on their front porch, drink beer and watch football games and still not have a job.

God bless all of us, including America's team...the Dallas Cowboys!!!

The dangers of eyelash extensions (That's Fit)

Dec 11th 2006 9:24PM What about the temporary individual lashes you buy at Sally's or even a drug store? Do those look natural at all? I've been interested in them, I have long lashes, but they are so fine and so blonde you cannot see them. I think they would frame and highlight your eyes. I cannot however afford the extensions, I'm lucky to get my nails done every three weeks, and I've just started doing that in the last month or two! I'd love some input on this. Thanks.

So what exactly IS a cocktail dress? (Stylelist)

Dec 7th 2006 4:08PM Bill, I think you are confusing a cocktail party with a strip bar...I've been to many parties but never have I had to flash or lift anything. My successes in my career come from how well I flash my brain, not my sexual talents, I leave those for my husband. And, by the way, my husband never flashed a wad of money to catch me.

And, Paul, ..."While their female partners are flashing flesh, e.g., full arms, backs, collar bones, breast/cleavage, toes, calfs, knees, thighs [when sitting], what is the male partner allowed to do at his party while completely covering all of his flesh?..." Oh my goodness! All a woman has to do is show you her arms or toes? Where are you from, Afghanastan? Do you want women to wear a Burka? That is about the only way I know of to cover all the body parts at one time that you listed there.

What have women done to these two men? I'm so happy I'm married and don't have to tend with men like that, good luck ladies!

Andre Gurode Should Sue Albert Haynesworth (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Oct 2nd 2006 1:28PM IF the NFL does not take drastic actions agains Haynesworth, they should also be named in a suit by Gurode. Haynesworth should not only be ejected from the NFL permenately, he should be made to pay substantial amounts of monies to Gurode as a punishment and sign to others that might try to do such a thug type of behavior. Also, Haynesworth should be made to attend at least a years worth of anger management classes. I can only imagine what his family has to fear when he is not on the field and does not have a defensless man on the ground to kick around...I would not be surprised if Haynesworth kicks around his wife and children (if he has any), and or his dog that is tied up to a tree. Haynesworth should not be allowed to play again, and it is up to the NFL to make that statement...if not, watch out, its going to be a bad year for this sport!

Favorite store-brand sodas (Slashfood)

Sep 9th 2006 3:10PM The last of our five children just graduated and moved out. For years our house was "teen-central" and trying to find drinks and snacks to fill up one teen after another (and actually, they still come back to visit), and still stay on budget had to be very creative. We live in Texas and shop at HEB as well as the new super Walmarts that are now popping up every where you turn. Our multitude of teens knew we would not buy named brand sodas, and hands down, they would prefer the HEB brands of soda over any of the others, Albertson's, Randall's and Walmart. In fact, the HEB cream soda is hands down as good if not better than any name brand out there, well, with the exception of the way over-priced Jones or IBC. Although, I will admit, buying a case or two of Jones soda with someone's personal picture on it and giving as a gift is a fun thing to do. Otherwise...HEB all the way!
