Cheetos encouraging kids to "stick it to The Man" {ParentDish}
May 29th 2008 10:49PM These commercials dont tend to come on during child shows. I always have noticed that these commercials, being adult in nature, come on a a more age appropriate time. It's amazing how many people spend their time pointing their fingers at any cause for this apocalyptic fate for their children. I havent once seen any parent saying that their influence is enough to beat out the bad side of humanity.
How skimpy is too skimpy for a prom dress? {Styledash}
May 14th 2008 12:31AM It says in the original article that the teen offered to add more cover to her dress, but that compromise was refused. She was clearly attempting to reach a middle ground with the authority figures before her. After she was refused, she insisted on getting her money back and that's when the authorities were called. At the very least, I do not believe that there was a dress code for the prom otherwise, she'd not have worn this outfit (proved responsibility when she offered to cover up) and she was entitled to her money. The powers at that school elected to call the police rather than deal with a situation that they helped create.
Was the dress inappropriate? That's up for speculation, but I feel that it was a little too much and would get her into trouble later.
Baby Names Being Derived from...Text Messaging? {Switched.com}
Mar 31st 2008 9:00PM Anyone attempting to give their child a name that violates the norms to that degree should also be visited time and again by their governmental agencies of child welfare.
I dont know if the 4real/superman story is real, but I do know that there are 4 American children named ESPN (pronounced espen). People who choose names like this are giving everyone around them a peek into their mental maturity and the likely path of their children.
Whatever happened to giving children names that they could be proud of? Whatever happened to the dignity of an individual? Are children becoming another form of a pet all of a sudden?

You have to work for your money! {WalletPop}
Jan 23rd 2008 10:21AM I would have taken the money and opened a savings account and not touched it. When the money grew past a certain point, I'd have opened a CD account, an IRA account or other types of guaranteed no risk investments. By the time they came calling for their money, I'd give them every penny of their money, provided I could have my own accountant and lawyer verify their total and I would just keep the interest that accrued over the years. That dope had a one way ticket to a lifetime of passive income and he blew it.
Playboy pants lead to detention {ParentDish}
Jan 16th 2008 8:20AM It is amazing how people from different generations will always look at the world through a lens from the past and cannot see how it is changing or even accept that change. Everything must remain the same and that includes all the negative stereotypes.
Yes, Playboy traditionally means "sexy" but I never thought of anyone wearing their merchandise as a "loose" woman. Another thing to consider is that there is a style line of clothing that has writing across the front of pants and across the hipline in the back. At first, I saw these for what they were (attempts to get someone to lower their eyes and the beginning of objectifying women), but the market is so saturated at this point that the negative and statement making beginnings have long since faded and we are now just looking at another pair of pants.
Times change people. Conceptions change. People change. It' s about time that we all change together.
Lastly, there's nothing in this article that suggests that this girl has a loose reputation, but rather that she is a cheerleader taking honor classes. At her age and maturity, she should be cut a break. If you dont want your students wearing certain items, fine, but wait til you have seen them and create a list rather than punishing on an arbitrary basis. I'll bet that principle has many other girls in his school wearing the other letter pants.
Are microwaves making us fat? {That's Fit}
Jan 2nd 2008 11:52AM Has anyone noticed that, while we use the standard weight system in the US, foods labels are always listed in metric increments? We as a nation of capitalism are becoming more and more cutthroat as time goes on. Putting out a quality product and sticking by it has not been practiced for at least 10yrs.
Tony Parker 'Desperate' to Cheat?? {AOL Latino Blog}
Dec 13th 2007 9:50AM If this is true, it tells us two things. Tony and Eva are not as content as they should be and also that Alexandra is nothing more than an over emotional, meek, and superficial person. What would she possibly get out of this? She like He knew that there was a wife, so her coming out doesnt impress me.
Peeved Bill Gates Says Everyone Copies Microsoft {Switched.com}
Dec 11th 2007 11:05AM I remember when the process to get Windows Certified was to send in the source code of your program. Microsoft would not offer certification any other way. I wonder what happened to all those source codes? Were they used ethically and responsibly or were the ones deemed valuable enough simply appropriated?
Why Britney Lost Custody {TMZ}
Oct 2nd 2007 10:51AM This is unfortunate, the kids go to someone who only sees them as his meal ticket. Notice how he doesnt want his other kids.
Sadly though, for Britney, she is a classic case of someone who wasnt prepared for the money, the fame, or the yes-people that come along with all that. Something in her never grew up. What is it about the women that this generation of young people Hilton is a flake, Richie is like her, Lohan at least had an excuse with her family being what it was, but Britney chose the path she wanted and never grew up along the way. She married someone who was clearly below her level in every regard and this is what happens. How is it that Timberlake, who used to date Britney in the beginning, was able to turn out so well? I wonder. She's just screwed up.
