Why Did TSA Pat Down Kids, Adults Getting Off Train? (AOL Travel News)

Mar 2nd 2011 10:43AM I've had it with all this TSA, Patriot Act and DHS crap. We don't need it. Sure, there are terrorist attacks, but how does groping grandmothers and small children stop them? If they really want to stop terrorism, why don't they profile the people who are more likely to be terrorists?

Amityville Horror House Now For Sale (Cinematical)

May 26th 2010 9:25PM Is this the original Amityville house from the book, or the house the movies were filmed in?

I read that the whole haunting thing was a hoax. If that's the case, I'd have no problem living in that house.

SourceForge blocks Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan and Cuba (Download Squad)

Jan 27th 2010 11:29AM Is SourceForge truly bound by export laws to block access to countries the US government deems a threat? Don't those laws only affect the export of commercial goods?

Judge Confiscates Boy's Wii, Will Return for Good Behavior (Switched)

Dec 28th 2009 7:58PM I don't like sentences like that because it trains kids to think that it's natural and permissible for someone in authority to confiscate the property of someone under their authority. This runs contrary to the property rights that we in western civilization hold dear.

It starts with judges confiscating teens' video games and ends up with judges, cops and anyone else in authority confiscating our cars, homes, etc.

Booster seat laws: How old is your child? How big? It matters. (Gadling)

Dec 6th 2009 11:14PM I think these booster seat laws are ridiculous! Who ever heard of putting kids over five in car seats? Things were not like this when I was a little kid in the 80s, and I survived to adulthood. Why do safety measures always involve infantilizing their subjects?

AT&T signals an abrupt end for some prepaid iPhone plans (updated) (TUAW.com)

Jun 16th 2009 10:45AM Figures! These big corporations will do anything to squeeze every last penny out of us. I think this is grounds for a class action lawsuit.

Dad Takes a Hammer to Teen's Cell Phone Over $5K Bill (Switched)

Jun 13th 2009 4:36PM All that aggravation could have been avoided if the father had purchased unlimited messaging.

Should We Ban Our Kids From Texting? (Switched)

Jun 7th 2009 8:18PM Tom, banning kids from the Internet and cell phones isn't the answer. Like it or not, kids and teens are people too, and people have the right to use the technology that's available to them.

I do agree that parents need to be responsible for what their kids do, but that means showing them the ropes and teaching right from wrong, not giving in to knee jerk reactions and totally banning them from the medium.

Cell Phones Blamed for Disrupted Sleep (Switched)

Apr 8th 2009 12:56PM I turn off my Berry at night, but it turns itself on in the morning for the alarm, so no problem.

Rude Cell Phone Users Might Get Prison Time in India (Switched)

Apr 8th 2009 11:43AM Gurjit Singh needs to keep his dislike of cell phones to himself. Whether or not he likes it, the younger generation has embraced technology and won't take kindly to old fogies trying to restrict their use of it.
