Jun 22nd 2010 8:26PM Just bought and used a OneTouch Jar Opener. It's an electric gadget that runs on AA batteries, and opens just about any size jar. Especially good for large mouthed jars vs. older hands. Really neat.

Jan 12th 2010 9:32PM Sometimes I'd watch the new Leno show, mostly I wouldn't. I only tried to watch Conan once or twice in the 11:35 spot. He's unwatchable. Not funny. Not smart. Late night in the Chevy Chase tradition. And he only lasted the lifetime of a fruit fly.
Wherever Conan goes, his audience might follow. I, for one, will watch "Tonight, with Jay Leno".

Sep 18th 2008 11:10PM The commercials aren't the problem. It's the new interface on the "2007" products that suck. Can't find what I've been using for 20+ years!!! Why did Microsoft change a very workable GUI? Answer: Because they think they own the software world, and what they say goes. So there!!!
I will never again buy Microsoft until they go back to the old GUI.

Sep 9th 2007 9:04PM So much ignorance!! And for what, a drug habit which afflicts millions. Any fool who thinks drinking is more dangerous and deadly than smoking must be smoking more than tobacco, or is too stupid to look up the facts. Smoking kills between 8 and 10 times the number of people killed by alcohol per year in the U.S. alone. The taxes lost from lost jobs will easily be made up by people who used to smoke living longer.
Yes I'm an ex-smoker. Took 5 tries, but I finally did it. My brother and sister and two cousins are ex-smokers also-lung cancer killed them, so it was much easier to not smoke when you're dead. Give those of us who want to breath clean air a break and smoke in a closet where it will only effect you.
You can pay $1,000 a night and still have to obey the rules of the house-you only rent the room, jerk.
I've been trapped on a cruise ship where there was no non-smoking area and it was hell. I'm sure there will eventually be smoking cruises, just as there are smoking private air flights-you just have to pay the extra money to foul the air, furniture, drapes, burn holes in the carpet, etc.
You pay more taxes because you use more services-clean up of butts galore, health care on the Medicare and Medicaid teat, fire department responses to fires set by burning cigarettes, etc. Either quit or pay the price.

May 22nd 2007 10:56AM For those of us who lived through the Carter years, there is no comparison. The fool we have in office now has no respect for the constitution, human rights, International Treaties, the Congress, the justice system and the American people in general. Carter may have sucked, but George W. Bush's presidency is the worst I've lived throuh (from FDR 'til now). That is why he is the most hated person on the face of the planet.

Aug 7th 2006 2:08AM Every time I see Ms. Griffith interviewed on TV, it is clear she is a very dim bulb. Thus, this isn't surprising behavior on her part. As far as it being illegal to contribute to an under-age teen's smoking, it isn't the first time, nor will it be the last that the Hollywood elite get away with all sorts of things for which we mere mortals would be given a citation.
With any luck, her kids will survive her stupidity.
